We’re almost at the end of the year and of course at the end of December, which means that another round of We Love Role-Play is about to wrap up. I wanted to show off another outfit from it, the Abaddon Aftermath set by Noble Creations. The mix of leather, lace and torn pieces does perhaps look more post-apocalyptic than fantasy, but I thought it would look pretty good in a castle as well. And then I decided that I also needed to show off my Teegle Bento Horse Avatar again, especially as I am waiting eagerly for the Teeglepet Animesh Horse to come out.
I am not a coffee drinker (which is pretty unusual in Sweden!) and while I do like tea, my favourite hot drink indulgence is without a doubt hot chocolate. Best drunk in winter, of course, especially outdoors at a Christmas market where you often get it flavoured with cinnamon. Delicious! So, for my second Redeux post for this round, I setup the hot cocoa stand from Roawenwood as a backdrop.
Dreaming Thicket has a new gown out at We Love Role-Play, this time inspired by Viking and early medieval gowns. It is a simple style that comes in earthy colours that look warm and comforting during the winter season. I used a few pieces from Nomad’s Midgard gacha to setup the scene of an early winter morning in a wooden house with a central fireplace and some simple furnishings. The hair is a favourite from Stealthic which looks great in red, the freckled skin is from alaskametro and the head is one of my LightStar heads, Marian.
It is definitely time to get that Christmas feeling going and it seems someone has been naughty and opened one of their presents early! No wonder, when the present is wearing such a saucy ensemble from Voluptas Virtualis. Both the lingerie and the boots (which come with two heel styles) are available at the current round of Kinky. The hair is by Wasabi and one of two releases for the December round of the Arcade. I really like how the straight sides and the slightly messy bangs work with the Ivona head from Logo, here tweaked for the Kate skin by alaskametro.
The slave crate from Roawenwood is available at this round of We Love Role-Play and comes both in a plain and a Christmas-decorated version. There’s 27 animations available, including two with the lid closed. The fireplace is also by Roawenwood and the decorative centerpiece as well as the rolls of wrapping paper are by Paper Moon who are currently having a Yule Sale with 50% off on selected items, so don’t miss that!
As soon as I saw the Frozen Kingdom gacha from HEXtraordinary, I knew I wanted to setup a kingdom for an Ice Queen. Around the same time, Chandra Meehan sent me the Magick gacha and when I tried it out and saw the snowflake accessories, it was clear what my Ice Queen would be wearing. I also picked up the latest releases from LORE at We Love Role-Play to build the gate into her kingdom.
There was just one problem. I did not own the Maitreya body and while many outfits do work on Slink Physique, this was not one of them. So, I decided to bite the bullet and pick up another body to be able to blog more widely. But I remain firm in my opinion that the hips, thighs and bottom of Physique Original are far better and more realistic. Physique Hourglass is a different beast altogether, though I am pretty happy with how I have managed to “tame” it. But, I digress!
When it gets colder outside, you need to do what you can to stay warm. The Naughty gacha from deviousMind together with this throne from Roawenwood seemed to me like an excellent way of heating things up. Of course, I had to rope in (ahem) some help from Ran, but fortunately he did not need much persuading. ;) In keeping with the seasonal theme, I added a fabulous hair with an optional string of lights from Wasabi as well as some additional decor from Libertine.
Every witch needs a familiar—a cat, a raven or maybe a rat? In this case, two of them, a cuddly companion on my shoulder and a cheeky little fellow wandering on my worktable. Both come from Jian’s gacha at the Epiphany, with the shoulder companion being the rare item. Jian has been doing almost exclusively animal gachas or animal sets of late and are a great source for pets and companions. I hope they move into animesh when that is released, that would be really interesting.
Today I am hitting the virtual dance floor in the newest gacha from Voluptas Virtualis, which will be available at the Epiphany when it opens tonight (well past my bedtime!). I found just the right prop in my inventory, this dance box from sadly defunct pose store LostAngel, which made it easy to create a little personal club space. As much as I have been shopping for builds lately, I think I need to get some more, particularly modern skyboxes that could work as clubs and similar things. This outfit definitely does not belong in a castle!
I am staying in an occult mood for this post as well, having several beautiful new witchy sets of jewellery by Voluptas Virtualis to show off as well as a new Witch Hazel dress from the Dreaming Thicket which continues the theme. My new hair from Wasabi is from the pop-up round at the Arcade and I am also wearing more makeup from the Black Magic set by alaskametro, which I absolutely love. Plus, another look at the Straight Jacket shoes from Adam n Eve.
October has barely arrived and already Second Life is filling up with zombies, vampires, witches and whatever else that Halloween might bring. I am starting off gently in this post with just a hint of darkness in the Straight Jacket shoes from Adam n Eve and the Coffe couch & chair set by the Plastik, as well as an eyeshadow from alaskametro’s Black Magic set. Also featured is a new lingerie set from Voluptas Virtualis and a new hair from Wasabi.
Much to my delight, sachi Vixen of Adam n Eve will be releasing her first gown in ages for the October round of We Love Role-Play which opens tomorrow. Without a purchase of one of her ballgowns back in 2007 we might never have met and become friends, so never underestimate the power of a pretty gown! The new gown, Henriette, started to take form after I suggested that sachi watch Versailles for some inspiration and I am delighted with how it came out. You will not want to miss checking it out at the event as it is being sold at 50% off.
To show my new purchases from Hair Fair, as well as a couple of demos I am still indecisive about, I decided to put together a video. This also allowed me to give you a closer look at style huds and hair colour huds from each brand.
Remember that every pack of hair sold at Hair Fair donates a minimum of 15% to Wigs for Kids, so its shopping for a good cause!
Hair Fair 2018 opened yesterday, offering four sims full of brand new hair releases (plus two additional sims for cam shopping). The Hair Fair website has all the information, including an excellent guide (with vendor pictures and slurs) to what is available on each of the sims, but here is the crucial bit:
Every pack of hair sold at Hair Fair donates a minimum of 15% to Wigs for Kids. If there is no sign stating a percentage, it will be the minimum. Bandanas and Hair Fair Hares donate 100% and any donations made to the kiosks around the event are 100% donations.
In this post, we are showing you the three new styles from Wasabi; Camila, Maddie and Cole. Camila and Maddie are female styles, Cole is a unisex style that comes in two versions, with or without a shaved side.
I have been just a touch distracted this last week, since Elio and I got a chance to try a demo of Reigns: Game of Thrones which has proven completely addictive. As a result, I have barely had any time left for Second Life. But, as I did have some new releases to share with you, I’ve stopped my attempts at ruling the Seven Kingdoms successfully to bring you a look at some fresh new things from Senzafine, Wasabi and alaskametro.
The roses on this harness from deviousMind gave me the idea of using the flowery wall decor from the Plastik as the backdrop. There’s a hardness to the roses on the harness, especially in black, that I think matches well with the metallic decor flowers. I also used a bit of metallic makeup from alaskametro and tried to play with the light on it in the closeup.
