I have probably mentioned this before, but I am not much of a shoe person IRL…except when it comes to riding boots, that is. In SL, I am not much better, unless we’re talking shoes for roleplay looks. Like these gorgeous, embroidered shoes with knee-high, tied-off stockings that Adam n Eve has out at the new round of We Love Role-Play. They’re the perfect shoe to wear with a ball gown, but of course I wanted to show them off so I opted for something a bit more revealing. To setup the scene, I used a selection of pieces from Libertine, which was just perfect for the boudoir feel I wanted.
The Festival of Sin II opens today, with an area themed to each of the Seven Deadly Sins. Not everything was setup when I visited the preview, but there was plenty of sin to be had even so. In this post, I am looking at sinful releases from Jian, Aisling and PXL.
Enchantment is back under new management and in a new format. The theme for the first round is “the Little Mermaid” and one of the designers tackling this is Aisling. They are also in a couple of other current events from which other pieces of this look have been drawn. Another Enchantment designer is Fallen Gods, with some (as usual) stunningly detailed fantasy skins.
I had collected a few pieces from 22769 ~[bauwerk]‘s Mystery Gacha, but I didn’t have a good idea for how to use them. But then I was reminded of my Landscapes Unlimited skyboxes and decided to setup a desert scene to showcase an upcoming release from aisling as well as a new skin from PXL and a Hair Fair release by Calico.
With this kind of outfit, my go-to kind of location has been a desert-y environment. But I’ve taken a lot of shots at Kingdom of Sand and at our own little desert, so I went looking for something else and came across Fruit Islands Tropical Rainforest. Since the dress by Senzafine is for the Conquest, a Game of Thrones-inspired event, lets just say my character is visiting the Summer Isles and marvelling at the local flora and fauna. The hair I am wearing is by Wasabi Pills for the same event.
This post combines the talents of two of the foremost brands within fantasy accessories—aisling and Alchemy—and their contributions to the Fantasy Gacha Carnival.
If you’re not already all in black, its time to let your inner goth out to play because today the World Goth Fair by Cursed Events opens. The event sports an amazing, very appropriate build and an excellent selection of designers. In this post, I am giving just a little taste of that, combined with pieces from the Fantasy Gacha Carnival, We Love Role-Play, The Secret Affair and the Dark Style Fair.
A bit of a quickie today, to cove aisling’s quirky but beautiful creation for the TAG! Gacha. The Morigan set is not an accessory worn on your arms and legs, it is a set of ornate fantasy prosthetics. The detailing is stunning and as usual you are able to customize the colour accents via a HUD. I found that by design or by chance, the height of the legs and the arms matched up perfectly to the alpha cuts for Slink Physique. The legs are the commons and they are available in set metals and colours and the arms are the rares and are fully colourchange.
If you or someone you know is in need of some correction, then elymode might have just what you need at the Pose Fair. Elysium had passed me one of the two sets featured in this post, and then when she wondered if the poses in the other set would work for a guy as well as a girl, I immediately volunteered Ran as a guinea pig. As it turned out, he was quite pleased with the arrangement. ;)
The spring edition of The Seasons Story is here and aisling has released a lovely little collection of quite varied pieces, two of which I will be featuring in this post together with a new hair from Entwined for We Love Role-Play. I’ve also been hard at work (well, occasionally at work, anyway) on getting this corner of our sim a bit more landscaped, though it is still a bit of a work in progress.
This one will have to be a bit briefer than usual as a cold has knocked out both me and Ran but I really wanted to get some of my blogging obligations out of the way by showing you this beautiful gacha set from aisling for The Secret Affair, the second of Adam n Eve‘s skins for the Skin Fair and a closer look at the mesh eyes from Mayfly.
This started with the dark and somewhat twisted Iron Maiden design by aisling for The Secret Affair. As it happened, it turned out to be a rather good match for one of the new releases from the Plastik—no surprise, really, since dark and twisted is something the Plastik does very well. The final touch was the new shoes from Bushu for My Attic and some bold red makeups by elymode and Adam n Eve.
Skin Fair 2015 is only a few days away (March 13th) and it brings with it a welcome return to the world of Second Life skins: a new release by Tuli. Her skins have been among my favourites for a very long time and I still wear some of the previous releases now and then and would do so with regularity if they only had Physique appliers. As tends to be the case with my skin posts, I prefer to go light on clothing to show the body as well as the face, but I could not resist some accessories by aisling, Sax Shepherd Designs and ieQED. I am also giving a look at a skybox from Dysfunctional Designs that I soon hope to show more of.
At the moment I have a bit of a craving for poses and for landscaping items. I indulged the former today when I visited the One Word event for their Fairytale round, picking up new releases from oOo Studios and Exposeur. And, because the oOo Studios set is made for big gowns, I went at grabbed Giulia from the Muses from the Marketplace.
The Fantasy Gacha Carnival opens today, so prepare to be frustrated once again as you try to win those must-have pieces. I can almost guarantee that the set from aisling that I am featuring here will be the cause of some of that frustration, because it is quite gorgeous. Fortunately, even the commons are utterly stunning and very wearable on their own.
I am also showing a bit of a house from Entity, which is a store I found just yesterday through Plurk and which I will definitely be keeping an eye on from now on.
