I’ve gift-wrapped myself today in this little number from Voluptas Virtualis that I absolutely adore. It seemed appropriate since so much of what I am wearing are gifts from generous creators, whether at their stores or at the Winter Shop & Hop. And while the skybox and the furnishings weren’t free, they were bought at Apple Fall’s incredibly generous Black Friday sale.
This is also my first photo on the new Firestorm release, with EEP instead of Windlight. So far, I am finding it incredibly useful to be able to flip through skies using the Quick Preferences but also annoyingly slow to import windlight settings and difficult to use the new way of adjusting the sun and moon. We need batch importing and we need to be able to get and set exact numbers for the sun.
I do love an opportunity to bring my Teeglepet animesh horses into my photos. It isn’t always easy and I am waiting eagerly for more poses and animations made for posing with your horse, because it can be tricky to make a good composition without that. In this case, I used one of the built-in horse & rider poses and then a couple of stand-alone poses for myself with the horse looking pretty in the background in the new Dapple Rose coat from Cinnamon. This is a new release for Redeux (which just opened) and is available for both Teegle (pets and the avatar) and Water Horse a 25% off during the event.
Putting some flowers behind your ear is cute and not unusual. Putting some flowers in your knickers is still cute, but definitely a bit more unusual. The Bellis set from Voluptas Virtualis, out now at Kinky, combines cheekily dishevelled clothing with a few floral touches (these can be turned off via the HUD as well) and offers additional flowers for adorning your hair. Like all Voluptas Virtualis sets, the well-priced fatpack (L$850, with basic colours being L$300) offers a ton of colour options through the HUD. The sizes included are Belleza Freya, Maitreya and Slink Hourglass (seen here).
The Melon hair is the latest release from Wasabi, available at Uber. It includes three options for the bangs via the styling and sizing HUD: no bangs, tucked back bangs (seen here) and bangs hanging down on either side of the face.
Faida and Velvet Whip has another collaboration from their “Oops!” line out at We Love Role-Play. This is a line of scripted clothing for roleplay, which allows parts of the outfit to be removed when it is clicked by the wearer or someone else who is allowed to control the outfit. When someone else does it, the action can be accompanied by roleplaying emotes. I’ll show a couple of the options in this post, so it will be getting progressively more nsfw. The gorgeous hair I am wearing is the latest group gift for Truth’s VIP group; it has so many different ways of wearing it that you will be seeing a lot of it.
I managed to find a little time between preparing various dishes for Christmas to make a new vlog for Otherworldly, focusing on Vista’s new bento head and a few other items, such as recent releases from lassitude & ennui and paper moon. As usual, I have the credits at the end of the post. And yes, the Astrology contest I mention in the video is still going on, so check it out.
I wasn’t very old when I got my first book on Greek mythology and for a while I could recite some rather long lists of deities and their familial connections. I don’t remember all of it any longer but the stories remain some of my favourites. In most English-speaking countries, the Roman names for various deities and heroes are more commonly used than the Greek ones, but I always preferred the latter and you will occasionally hear me muttering “it is Herakles, not Hercules, dammit”. This gacha outfit from deviousMind, however, is gorgeous even though it is called Diana rather than Artemis. ;) Fact is that while the Romans did end up borrowing a lot of Greek deities and heroes, their own pantheon was quite different before many of the main gods and goddesses ended up merging with their closest Greek counterparts. So it might be more appropriate to refer to Diana and Artemis as “sisters” rather than exactly the same goddess.
At first, this was going to be all about this nifty Grecian-inspired armour from Noble Creations. But then I ended up making a new shape and using a new skin from Skin Fair, so of course I had to add in some nice body shots as well, though I passed on doing close ups of all tones since I had decided on this bright red hair and it really didn’t go with the darker tones.
Last Friday Vista Animations released their second bento mesh head, Diana. As I had purchased Lia when it came out and been very pleasantly surprised by its quality, I wasted no time in demoing and ultimately buying Diana. It certainly did not hurt that she is currently on sale for L$2000 (regular price will be L$2500) PLUS if you purchased Lia already and buy Diana on the Marketplace, you get an instant rebate of another L$1000 which makes it a truly excellent deal.
Since I already had a vlog in mind for Roawenwood’s We Love Role-Play release, I decided to combine this with a look at Diana as well. Also featured is a new outfit from Dreaming Thicket and a new hair from Stealthic.
I am still playing around with the Lia head from Vista, making shapes and trying out skins. For these photos, I am using the YS&YS skin that was included with the head and I made a shape specifically for it which I also put up on the Marketplace. And, since I was also planning to showcase the Enelia set from Voluptas Virtualis, I made the shape for Slink Physique Hourglass, which is one of the three bodies supported for the set (the other two being Belleza Freya and Maitreya).
Chandra Meehan of deviousMind dropped her latest creation on me the other day and it inspired me to shed my clothes and take a dip in the Nile—well, in our little desert oasis, anyway, which I spruced up with some new cattails from Dysfunctional. There’s a few other pieces from We Love Role-Play in the mix as well, plus new makeups for anyBODY from alaskametro.
Today I thought I would take a bit of an overdue look at the bento update to the Slink hands which came out a few weeks ago. And, seeing as we’re talking about bento, a video was of course in order to show the new possibilities with these hands. I also took the opportunity to show off the FATE Hand Poser and several sets of new manicures from the Plastik, as well as featuring two new releases from the Ostara’s Altar event (which I ended up calling Altar of Ostara in the video) since that suited the beautiful spring weather we’ve had today.
