The Halloween edition of LL’s Shop & Hop event is currently ongoing, with lots of deals and gifts to be had. One of the more spectacular releases for the event is the latest Teeglepet, Styx. He joins the unicorn and pegasus as yet another fantastical equine, and being a skeleton horse he certainly qualifies for that! Styx also has his very own Spooky Carriage, and right now you get a voucher for the carriage when you buy Styx, which is a fantastic deal. This deal is valid until November 1st, when the carriage will be put for sale on its own. Teegle is also offering a 25% discount on the other Teeglepets at the Shop & Hop, including on the upgrades from no-copy to copy.
Since animesh products are best shown on video, that’s what I opted for. It also gave me the opportunity to offer a sneak peek at some forthcoming landscaping from Fanatik.
I am so excited! I just discovered that Mythril has finally released several interactive pose sets for Teegle horses and riders. There have been lots of pose sets for just the horses before, but these are among the first sets that include poses for the riders as well (this includes some sets where the rider is posing besides the horse rather than on it). I want them all, but I had to restrain myself a bit and started with the Action set which includes canters, gallops, rears and even an archery pose that I need to pick up a bow for.
For my dashing outfit I made use of ContraptioN (love the Crossroads Walker set with hat & mask) and lassitude & ennui and in the background you have the ruins from Fanatik (don’t miss their sale!).
As my herd of Teegle horses has grown, I’ve found myself wishing for a stable that would fit in with the rest of my sim which is full of castles and the like. The latest release from Fanatik goes a long way to fulfil that wish. It may not be a full-on period stable, but it definitely looks great and suits my Teeglepets perfectly.
But that’s not all I’ve got for you! The Muses has a new mainstore, so I am showing off a favourite from their current collection of gowns, and Skin Within has another new skin out, the second after their return to Second Life. So do keep reading for more photos!
In Welsh myth, you can recognize the creatures of Annwn—the Otherworld—by their white coats and red ears. If a pack of white hounds with red-tipped ears races through the woods, take care because the rest of the fairy hunt may follow. This seemed like a very appropriate subject for today. Walpurgis Night, the night before Beltane, is the last day of the Wild Hunt, their last chance until Samhain to cause havoc. Here in Sweden, bonfires are traditionally lit to scare off various supernatural creatures that are about on this night (though in some parts of the country, the bonfires have moved to Easter instead, when they primarily scare away witches).
I did promise you would see more of the Teeglepet Pegasus and here’s a whole video, complete with lots of rambling from me as I attempt to fly a whole circuit of the Fairelands. If you just want the nitty-gritty of what I am wearing, I go through that at the beginning (there are also credits at the end of this post) and then you can skip through to see examples of Mythos in flight. Of course, you are welcome to watch it all, too! I’ve also included a couple of stills to give a good look at the Pegasus and at my clothing. Taking a focused picture of yourself while on a hovering Pegasus was anything but easy, but I am pretty pleased with the end result.
And, as always, keep in mind that Fantasy Faire is raising money for Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. If you visit any of the linked vendors at the Faire, keep an eye out for the special RFL vendors that donate all or part of the proceeds of their sales!
Fantasy Faire 2020 is finally here and the Fairelands will be with us until Sunday, May 10th. This year, the Fairelands are made up of 18 sims offering fantastic shopping as well as art galleries, performances, the LitFest and many other things. As always, the event is raising money for Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society.
Your journey through the Fairelands is best begun at the Fairelands Junction and to give you a little hint of what the other realms have to offer, I sent Mythos, the Teeglepet Pegasus (which you can get at Teegle’s Faire Store), on a flying tour.
I am back with more from Hullabazoo, because of course I wanted to cover Teegle’s new release as well—a fantastic set of jousting tack for each of the Teeglepet breeds except for the American Paint and the Shetland Pony. A perfect opportunity for Ran to dress up in his fantastic armour from Silhouette Warfare and setup a gorgeous fantasy scene of a knight meeting his lady.
Yesterday, the inaugural round of Hullabazoo opened. I think they have done an excellent job of describing their event on their page, so I am going to quote them:
“HullabaZoo is all about animals and creatures. It’s more than a shopping event and will have classes, a quest, contests, photo ops, parties, and more. Best of all we’re raising money for a great cause! HullabaZoo is an annual event and we would love it to become the BIGGEST creature event of the year - one that you look forward to, get excited about and look forward to it’s return each year!
HullabaZoo isn’t a mainstream fashion event with an “animals” theme so you won’t find zebra-print nails, or paw print T’shirts for human avatars. You will find creature avatars, pets, rideables, props and mods as well as accessories and mods for those creatures.”
The chosen charity for the 2020 event is the Jane Goodall Institute. I’ve only had time for a quick visit so far, but it looks like a great setup and I am really interested in checking some of the things they are planning before the event ends on March 31st. During that quick visit, however, I had time to check out the new Dressage System from Mythril and that is what this post (and, more importantly, video) is all about.
I think I am well on my way to becoming a virtual horse hoarder. I’ve now got six of the seven Teeglepets plus the Teegle avatar (on a separate account, so I can take myself for a ride) roaming around on the sim. The latest addition is the absolutely gorgeous Arabian, beautifully modelled to have the distinctive dish-shaped face, large eyes and nostrils and proudly carried tail. The movements of this horse are also very well suited to the breed and while I did not do a video this time, I tried to capture some of it in the shots I took.
The Arabian is currently an event exclusive at the Princess Bride round of Enchantment and the same goes for the lovely Arabian Nights tack from Jinx that I also picked up. This made it easy to decide how I wanted to show off the horse and so off I went to setup the Sahara Oasis solid sky landscape from Landscapes Unlimited. To this I added the new ruins from Fanatik and tinted these to blend in more with the desert sands. As for myself, I decided to be a desert prince rather than a desert princess—easier to find clothing suited to riding astride.
I am completely enamoured with buying accessories for my Teeglepets right now. There are so many cool add-ons! Like this fabulous Norse Gods tack set from Jinx, newly adapted for the Clydesdale, and of course the Luxury mane and tail (also for the Clydesdale) from Mythril. I wanted to do a real sword & sorcery photo with my extra fancy Clydesdale, so I dressed the part using a set from lassitude & ennui and setup a background using the Stalker Castle from Fanatik as well as rocks from their 2018 collection. Speaking of Fanatik, don’t miss their sale! Up to 50% on many items and it ends tomorrow.
Christmas is over and the last day of the year is approaching fast. I was laid low by another round of cold, barely two weeks after the last one, so the video showing off my presents to myself that I picked up on the 25th had to wait until today. I had been eyeing several new releases from Teegle and for the Teeglepets and finally decided it was time to treat myself. I picked up the new Clydesdale Teeglepet, a baroque tack set for the Friesian Teeglepet and a side-saddle animation set. In the video, I show how to add the tack set and how to install the animations. I also show off a lovely new gown from the Dreaming Thicket. For me, that is, not the horses. ;)
I do love an opportunity to bring my Teeglepet animesh horses into my photos. It isn’t always easy and I am waiting eagerly for more poses and animations made for posing with your horse, because it can be tricky to make a good composition without that. In this case, I used one of the built-in horse & rider poses and then a couple of stand-alone poses for myself with the horse looking pretty in the background in the new Dapple Rose coat from Cinnamon. This is a new release for Redeux (which just opened) and is available for both Teegle (pets and the avatar) and Water Horse a 25% off during the event.
In the evening, when the worst heat has faded, the market comes to life.
The scene came about as I wanted to showcase the pretty market stalls from Paper Moon for We Love Role-Play. Then, as so often is the case, it drew a little inspiration from A Song of Ice and Fire, again using the Dany hair from Wasabi together with a dress from lassitude & ennui which was available at Enchantment’s Iron Throne round. To that I added new jewellery from the Plastik from Collabor88 and I picked up a beautiful new coat applier for my Teeglepets to let them have a cameo as well.
It is finally that time of the year when you can visit the Fairelands once more and as usual you can find all the information you need about the Faire at the excellent website. In short, the Faire will run between April 18 and May 5 and it is a charity event that benefits the American Cancer Society. There are over 200 merchants across 10 fantastic sims and in addition to that there are wonderful sims for the LitFest, the parties, the quest and many other things.
A new event from the Fantasy Collective has hit the grid. Days of Yore: An Age Undreamed Of takes its inspiration from history and lets imagination run wild from there. Several of my favourite creators have made amazing outfits for it that I plan to show you over the next few days, provided that RL co-operates. I am going to start off with a very elaborate and fantastical set from the Plastik which channels a good dose of Xena. So of course I needed one of my new Teeglepets to play at being a warhorse. A very obedient warhorse, needing no bridle or saddle.
