Skin Within is back. After a long silence, there is finally a new skin release from Ayesha Bisiani in the form of a lovely redhead called Alina.
Of course, many of you may not have been around for Skin Within’s earlier releases, so a short introduction might pique your interest. Ayesha specializes in faces with distinct ethnicities—previous releases range from Turkish to Scandinavian—and each skin is released in a single tone specifically tailored to the look of that skin. With so many of the current skins having a very particular look it is so nice to still find skin makers that make faces with a lot of individual character.
While staying true to her original concept of the skins, Ayesha has updated her sales model to take full advantage of tattoo layers, something I will discuss in detail when looking at what the skin includes.
We’re nearing Christmas and its time to get that shopping done…as I know all too well, having just had a little RL crisis in terms of planned gifts going awry. But at least I got my photos done first so that you get a look at this new lingerie set from Insolence, the Collabor88 items from Earthstones and a new hair from Wasabi Pills. Also, read on for a hint about a limited edition skin for 99 L.
What a day for shopping. Not only so many sales that you can’t possibly manage to visit them all but also some fabulous new releases. In this post, you are getting a look at the Jamila skin (and my shape for it) from Adam n Eve—the skin is discounted 60% for the Skin Addiction Black Friday sale and I have the shape out at 50% off to match—together with some amazing new lingerie from Nomine and a set of unisex(y) model poses from Studio Sidhe.
Are you in the Warehouse group? If not, you better get in there right away because you do not want to miss the sale starting at 12:01 AM on the 25th. Thousands of items from Armidi, Naughty, the Abyss, the bodyco and more are on sale for just L$100. Clothing, accessories, hair and even skins.
I am showing just a few of my favourites in this post; three gorgeous skins from the Abyss and clothing from Armidi. I am also showing the newest prop from LostAngel, the Stage.
For this post on the Vintage Fair, I’ve gathered three of my SL addictions; skins, jewellery and pose props. The skins are from Curio, who has two new lines for the fair. The jewellery is from Caroline’s Jewelry and Amorous and the pose props are from LostAngel.
I’ve also got a different sort of prop in the shape of Ran for the first two shots, which called for a couple.
Just around an hour to go until the Vintage Fair opens and time for the last of my three sneak peeks. Though not the last post, I have plenty more goodies to showcase.
In this post, I look at a charming dress from Icing, a beautiful necklace from Caroline’s and one of two new skins for the Vintage Fair from Curio.
The Vintage Fair opens tomorrow (November 11th) at 4 PM SLT. I’ve spent the last two days browsing all the stores—this is a huge event—and getting a few blog posts ready.
This is the first one, featuring League’s gorgeous vintage lingerie, some stunning jewellery from Amorous and a vintage-style mesh hair from Alice Project. Plus poses by oOo Studios, also new for the Vintage Fair, and the Ariadne skin by Adam n Eve (not from the fair).
To show off the lovely new Piper skin from Adam n Eve—which has gorgeous freckles—I headed for the charming French bakery on Alchemy Immortalis. I also slipped into the new “one size fits all” mesh skirt from Ingenue, yet another new mesh hair from Wasabi Pills, new mesh boots from Insolence and some lovely new jewellery from Dark Mouse. Whew, I think that’s all the newness this time.
This last month has brought not just one new skin store to my inventory, but two. Hot on the heels of my acquiring a skin from Eep (review here), I’ve finally succumbed to the siren call of Birth. They’ve been creating skins for awhile, but one of the newest, Nico, really caught my eye.
The three gorgeous sims from the creators behind Alchemy Immortalis have now become four with the addition of Ceangal where they will be offering a Bed & Breakfast experience. If you want to explore this lovely new addition to this beautiful corner of Second Life, you have until the 26th of October when rentals commence and the sim closes to the public. Of course, you could always book a private stay after that; read more about this—including the auction for a special Halloween Party on Ceangal—on their website.
I did my exploring of Ceangal in a new mesh dress from PixelDolls and new mesh booties by Adam n Eve.
A few days ago, I received some review copies from Fleur du Mâle for their new ALIVE eyes and I was very intrigued after trying them on. Since the eyes were from the DRAKE series, which are various kinds of inhuman eyes, I had an excuse to break out this Etheria skin from the recent sale at Port Seraphine as well as the Reptilia hair from Wasabi Pills.
There are few things I enjoy as much in SL as a new skin. I love finding skins that fit my existing shapes and I love being inspired by a skin to create a new shape. Fortunately, working for Adam n Eve means that I get to try out a lot of new skins since sachi Vixen loves to make them.
This time, I’d like to introduce you all to Ariadne, who may just have the best body of any skin that sachi has made. I am also showing a variety of jewellery from Bewildebeest, a store full of very original jewellery designs.
While LL has disappointed (at least for the time being) those hoping for rigged mesh that conforms to our avatar shapes, mesh can be a pretty cool thing unrigged as well. The latest release from Tekeli-li, the Crystalism set, is a non-rigged mesh set which weighs in at ... very few prims indeed. The necklace is one prim, the top and the bottom three prims each.
A final look at the Jewelry Fair (it ends today!) with a lovely set from Bliensen+MaiTai. I’ve paired it with a new partial mesh dress from PixelDolls, a skin from the massive sale at Dutch Touch and a pair of gorgeous new eyes from Poetic Colors.
So, have you made it to the Jewelry Fair yet? If not, what are you waiting for? Its not as busy as one might fear right now (or as it ought to be), so browsing through it should be a pretty pleasant experience.
In case you need some more convincing, take a look at these goodies from Dark Mouse (whom you will find on the Air sim).
