A Conquistador Redeux

Redeux opened its doors to another round of discounted goodies yesterday and I have a few things to share with you. But first, a reminder about what Redeux is:

Redeux is a bi-monthly event taking place in the months of February, April, June, August, October, and December from the 14th to the 21st—Noon SLT.

In this event, you will find over 60 merchants offering both gacha and non-gacha items.  In each of the merchant stalls, there will be at least one offering 50L, and many will also have 50% off items and new exclusive items, highlighted with specific tags, and discounted by 25% for the event.

In this first post, I let the ornate Conquistador Bath set from Artistan Fantasy take center stage, but my corset and mini-mini skirt outfit from On a Lark is another great find from this round. I used the Isadora Rustic Cottage from Trompe Loeil to house the Conquistador set and this also gave me the opportunity for a cheeky shot through one of the tower windows as the closing image.

Festive Lights

We’ve passed the Winter Solstice, so it is getting lighter again, but so far you don’t notice much of it around here. Especially not when the weather is dark and dreary and there’s no snow on the ground to brighten things up. It is fortunate, then, that there are a lot of Christmas lights around. I haven’t gone quite so far as to wear them on myself IRL, but maybe I should to cheer myself up further? In SL, however, I am decked out like a Christmas tree, wearing lights from both deviousMind and Paper Moon. I’ve also redecorated the Christmas cottage a bit with some charming pieces from Paper Moon.

A Last Romp

The current round of Romp ends tomorrow, so I wanted to squeeze in a look at two things from the event—a furniture set from Roawenwood and a pair of stockings from Luxuria. The furniture has poses for two and three avatars at once as well, but I didn’t have any extra bodies handy for these photos. The idea is that it is a “kennel” bed set (for girls, not dogs, even if my dogs would have liked the lower bed!) with solo animations that include various lays, a set of tasks (knitting, sewing, embroidering) and a set of beauty routine animations. The work animations auto-rez and attach props, but the beauty ones don’t, which I am not sure whether that is intentional or a glitch. There is also a “sisters” menu for two avatars, with hairbrushing and gossping, an adult menu for two female avatars, and a threesome menu (two females, one male) with cuddles and sex. The style of the set is pretty versatile, here I have it in a fairly rustic setting but I could see this kind of wood finish in a more modern room too.

Luxuria’s Heaven Thigh Highs (the writing on the back reads “this way to heaven”), which includes both appliers and system layers, comes in eight colours for easy matching with lingerie—or with nothing at all. ;)

The Love Potion

La vie en pose is now open, so hurry up and check it out before the 25th of October. The event offers poses, props and backdrops and for this round you’ll see quite a few pumpkins and witches. The set I am showing today is one of the latter, a cute prop/backdrop set from Secret Poses with eight bento-enabled poses that include a bottle of love potion.

Eastern Vanity

I am taking a brief break from packing for our trip to the WorldCon in Dublin and I couldn’t resist putting together a little scene with the vintage kyodai gacha from kisetsu for the Gacha Garden. At first, I couldn’t think of an outfit that would work with the poses, but then I decided that the only outfit needed were these pretty thigh highs from Luxuria.

New Amsterdam

After a bit of a break during the summer, it is time for a new vlog, this time to show off the fully furnished version of Dutchie’s New Amsterdam houseboat. This is a fantastic creation, inspired by an actual houseboat created in 1900 and still in use today. The houseboat is a full-featured house with bathroom, kitchen, living room and bedroom and the furnished version comes with a great collection of mid-century furnishings made to fit within the houseboat. But of course, if you get the furnished version, you can also use the furnishings in other houses as well. If you would rather have just the unfurnished houseboat, that is available too.

In the video below, I show a walk-through of the houseboat, fully setup with the furniture package. I have also included eight photos of different parts of the interior, to give a sense of both the style of the furnishings and of how much actually fits into the houseboat. It really is a full-fledged house! At the end, I have credits for what I am wearing during this video.

Sexy, but Cosy

For once, I decided on a touch of modesty. This top from Voluptas Virtualis has quite the plunging neckline, but I actually prefer it with something underneath. A nice, lacy bra would have worked well too, but the bodysuit from Luxuria gave it a feel of sexy yet cosy. As a result, curling up in front of a fire in a comfortable chair from Dutchie seemed like just the thing to do.

A Valentine Redeux

A lingerie shot for Valentine’s Day may be somewhat cliché, but I do think the addition of plaster elephant planters from Paper Moon makes up for this by being more unexpected. I also think the couch from Painfully Divine has a nifty twist to it: it has a really cute feature that allows you to change the writing at the front to either “spankings” or “smooches” and to adjust the tally from 0 to 10. The pose is not from the animations in the couch, however, as most of them are for couples and Ran was too tired to be dragged into Second Life today (we had a roadtrip yesterday and returned just after midnight, so he’s forgiven), so I ended up using a pose from a set by Serendipity. Both the couch and the pose are from the brand new round of Redeux.

A Libertine’s Dungeon

After residing for a number of years in our lovely cottage from Alchemy Immortalis (a much-missed brand in Second Life), it was time for our Marquis furniture set from Libertine to move somewhere new. I thought it would be interesting to setup a little bit of a classy dungeon in the lower levels of one of our Fanatik castles and this is the start of it. Of course I had to try it out for some photos and I since I did have a lovely corset from Voluptas Virtualis that seemed like a good match. Plus, I snagged myself a new mesh head during the weekend—Logo’s Ivona.

Black Magic

October has barely arrived and already Second Life is filling up with zombies, vampires, witches and whatever else that Halloween might bring. I am starting off gently in this post with just a hint of darkness in the Straight Jacket shoes from Adam n Eve and the Coffe couch & chair set by the Plastik, as well as an eyeshadow from alaskametro’s Black Magic set. Also featured is a new lingerie set from Voluptas Virtualis and a new hair from Wasabi.

A Pond of Princes

Ever wonder how the Frog Prince ended up cursed to be a frog in the first place? Perhaps there was a pretty witch whose heart he broke. And perhaps he wasn’t the first prince to do so either. You see, she was a bit of a romantic and couldn’t resist being charmed by handsome princes, but something would always go wrong. The prince would go on a quest and have forgotten all about the witch on his return. Sometimes, there’d be a princess involved. Whatever the cause, the witch’s heart would be broken again and soon enough there would be another addition to the pond in her garden. Over time, it got quite crowded there.

Held in Suspense

Big events are fun, but returning home with a bug of some kind is less entertaining. No apparent cold, but definitely a fever, and that’s been enough to make even a bit of blogging too tiring the last few days. However, I do have quite a few things I’d like to show off, including a brand-new skin from alaskametro and a couple of pieces from the current round of the Fetish Fair from Roawenwood and Voluptas Virtualis.

Tropical Retreat

I had meant to write this blog before leaving for Spain, but I ended up only having time to post the images on Flickr. As such, this is just for archival completion and (partial) credits.

Tropical Bodysuit by Luxuria (at TLC), hair by Magika and build by Zinnias (at Swank).

China Doll

Lootbox is opening today and I am giving you a taste of two new releases you will find there, from deviousMind and Luxuria. As usual, the Lootbox gacha will include lootbox rares that offer things like whole item sets, special item sets and so on, rather than just single rare items. I’ve paired the Lootbox items with a new hair release from Wasabi and a skin from the massive new skin collection at the Plastik. I also want to give everyone a heads-up about a price reduction for some of my favourite mesh heads, namely the LightStar heads.

The Lecture

I had promised a proper write-up for these photos, but we were at a big dog show all weekend and I am still worn out. Add to that a heatwave that makes being at the computer uncomfortable and I will just have to settle for the credits.
