Carpe Noctem has a sweet set of five bento poses (with mirrors) at La vie en pose, each with a pre-positioned rose prop. I really liked the proportions of these poses, they worked very well with my avatar, which is not always the case. Arm length especially tends to be an issue but here it worked really well.
I definitely wanted to embrace the “boudoir” part of the name so I used the room where I have a selection of Libertine furnishings setup, including the Marquis set. Lounging on the floor among some pillows, candles and trays of wine and fruit seemed appropriately decadent. The strategically placed tray also allowed me to skip clothing while still keeping a little modesty. The beautiful Clarity style from Stealthic and features a lovely curl texture and a very natural fringe that effectively takes the place of a hairbase. It fits well on the LightStar Maya head, though the closeness of the fit does mean that there are some heads that it doesn’t work with, so make sure to demo.
The Winter Solstice is upon us and the pagan buried deep (okay, not so deep) within me tend to stir on days like this. The veil between the worlds does feel a little thinner then, especially as you consider the significance such days held for people in the past. I would love to experience the light hitting that inner chamber in Newgrange during the solstice or visiting Stonehenge to see the sunrise there.
Not this year though, for certain. But with the Lucia gown from deviousMind and the Lucia halo and candlestick from Lux Aeterna, I can at least try to capture some of that feeling of celebrating the light in the midst of the darkness, hoping that the sun will return once again.
The blindfold is what really makes this set from Aleutia stand out and it created a very strong image in my head of how I wanted to show it. But it also needed the right pose and after some searching I found this languid pose from Serendipity which was just right for capturing a sense of abandon and hedonism. The peacock stockings from Luxuria adds a further touch of decadence.
I’ve had this build, using components from Jammin, sitting around half-finished for ages. But this week I tired of that corner of the sim looking less put together than the rest and with considerable help from Ran with the alignment of the pieces it finally got sorted out. The decor might still get a few things added to it, but I am pretty happy about where it is at now. Not so coincidentally, it turned out to be the perfect spot for showing of some new pretties from Skin Within, deviousMind and Stealthic.
I didn’t feel like switching out of Slink’s Miranda head just yet, so I found another new skin from the Skin Fair to try on her, namely Gwenyth from 7 Deadly s[K]ins. A pretty match, I think, and I also like the look of the eyeshadow and lipstick from alaskametro’s Fire collection. Very sassy, just like the Amber bodysuit from Voluptas Virtualis.
The beautiful hair is Hanami by Wasabi, which includes both a regular (second image) and windblown (first image) version. There are also add-on petals for the windblown version. The decor (rug, candle, book) is all from Libertine.
We’ve passed the Winter Solstice, so it is getting lighter again, but so far you don’t notice much of it around here. Especially not when the weather is dark and dreary and there’s no snow on the ground to brighten things up. It is fortunate, then, that there are a lot of Christmas lights around. I haven’t gone quite so far as to wear them on myself IRL, but maybe I should to cheer myself up further? In SL, however, I am decked out like a Christmas tree, wearing lights from both deviousMind and Paper Moon. I’ve also redecorated the Christmas cottage a bit with some charming pieces from Paper Moon.
We’re taking our Christmas tree in tomorrow, but I am not sure I will be decorating it wearing a similar “outfit”. Actually, I am pretty sure I won’t. ;) But since the decorator’s stool from Libertine includes both some tree-decorating poses AND some pin-up poses, the ideas kind of merged in my mind. I also had a few new items from Voluptas Virtualis that lent themselves perfectly to decorating myself a bit. Finally, the lack of clothing allowed me to wear the Slink natural bottom augment for the Hourglass shape and to really focus on the new boots from Slink.
For this post, I combined a new release from Slink and a pretty, wintery gacha from Fallen Gods with some beautiful seasonal decor items from Libertine and Roawenwood. The Slink release might possibly have called for a video, but I’ve experimented with just showing it with an animated gif. What is it, then? You’ll have to read on and see. First, I wanted to highlight the Snowstorm gacha from Fallen Gods, which you can find at The Liasion Collaborative. It is a unisex tattoo gacha with snow flakes in gold, white and ice (blue) for head and body which includes both Omega appliers and BOM layers.
I have probably mentioned this before, but I am not much of a shoe person IRL…except when it comes to riding boots, that is. In SL, I am not much better, unless we’re talking shoes for roleplay looks. Like these gorgeous, embroidered shoes with knee-high, tied-off stockings that Adam n Eve has out at the new round of We Love Role-Play. They’re the perfect shoe to wear with a ball gown, but of course I wanted to show them off so I opted for something a bit more revealing. To setup the scene, I used a selection of pieces from Libertine, which was just perfect for the boudoir feel I wanted.
Alia Baroque of Fallen Gods has this truly poisonous green skin out at the spooky Hallow Manor event. It is of course available for both male and female avatars, as with all skins from Fallen Gods, and it includes Omega appliers and system layers which means I was able to use it with the new Slink Visage Jacquie head which uses Bakes on Mesh. I think Jacquie makes for a very cute green girl, especially in the Halloween edition of Lil’ Miss Snow from deviousMind which fits the poison theme perfectly. I would definitely think twice about trying her apples!
For the September round of the Imaginarium, deviousMind has a new gacha out. This one definitely has a naughty flair and does justice to its name, Kinky. To show it off, I went back to the stage and stage lights by Dutchie that I first showed a while ago and combined it with the performer chair, also by Dutchie. For the backdrop, I rummaged around in my Libertine folder and found a set of decorative wall panels.
I have so much more to show from the Fantasy Faire, but I can’t (completely) neglect everything else while it goes on. For example, this little lingerie number from Voluptas Virtualis was really begging to be shown off together with these new heels from lassitude & ennui. However, I did add a touch of fantasy in the shape of a new jewellery set by the Plastik which is available at the Fantasy Faire.
I’m finding myself rather spoilt for choice when it comes to blogging right now. Almost a little overwhelmed, even. I try not to pack too many things into any one post, but I couldn’t resist going all out on the accessories for this image since the pieces from the Plastik and Voluptas Virtualis fit so well together with them both using the heart motif and being rather naughty at the same time. The title of the post comes from the lounger, however, a new piece by Roawenwood. And that is not all of it, so dive in to see the rest.
When it gets colder outside, you need to do what you can to stay warm. The Naughty gacha from deviousMind together with this throne from Roawenwood seemed to me like an excellent way of heating things up. Of course, I had to rope in (ahem) some help from Ran, but fortunately he did not need much persuading. ;) In keeping with the seasonal theme, I added a fabulous hair with an optional string of lights from Wasabi as well as some additional decor from Libertine.
As soon as I spotted the Imperial gacha by Enfant Terrible, I knew I had to play it a few times to get something together for Ran. He’s often too busy to be doing much shopping himself these days, but he’s happy to have things found for him and then get called for some photos. With my usual gacha luck, I didn’t get any rares or accessories, just several different colours of the main outfit, but it is quite nice on its own. I also picked up one of the laurels from the Marketplace and then set the scene with decor items from Libertine. My own outfit is from the Dreaming Thicket and my hair is an upcoming release from Stealthic.
