The very cool Festival of Sin opened this Saturday. After my initial preview post, I had hoped to have more photos out during the weekend, but it proved much too hectic as myself and my partner (who of course happens to be my blog partner and photographer as well) spent the weekend in London shooting a little something for HBO UK to promote the upcoming DVD release of Game of Thrones. I didn’t even manage to post this one shot we did just before taking off, featuring the Sin-exclusive releases from Sn@tch and Dark Mouse.
Are you ready to sin? The Festival of Sin begins this Saturday, the 18th of February, and offers a sim full of delightful vices. Whether you are feeling Lustful or Wrathful or if you favour another poison, there’s bound to be something for you. I’m in the middle of packing for a trip over the weekend, but of course I had to make sure to shoot some of my favourite finds so far; the Carnal dress from Solange, the makeups from elymode, the shoes from Ingenue and the poses from Adorkable. There’s also a glimpse of the necklace from Caroline’s Jewelry, but I’ll need a closeup of that later on.
I do like it when several recent acquisitions just come together as if made for each other. Nomine just released the Jailbait series, a set of Lolita-inspired dresses, and as it happened they went perfectly with the new mesh hair from elikatira, the Flutter boots from lassitude & ennui for the Back to Black event which opens today and the new group gift from Adam n Eve, the Amaris skin with a special Valentine makeup. I am also wearing mesh lashes from Beetlebones (you get a pack of 10 styles for L$250 and they are indeed easier to fit than non-mesh lashes) and using the new Glitterati poses from Collabor88, Formality.
We’re nearing Christmas and its time to get that shopping done…as I know all too well, having just had a little RL crisis in terms of planned gifts going awry. But at least I got my photos done first so that you get a look at this new lingerie set from Insolence, the Collabor88 items from Earthstones and a new hair from Wasabi Pills. Also, read on for a hint about a limited edition skin for 99 L.
Not a sign of winter around here as of yet, in contrast to last year. But at least plenty of wintry clothes and props are starting to appear in SL and LostAngel Industries are doing there part with several new winter-related props in their Winter Village, among them the carousel I’ll be showing here.
I am also mixing and matching a few pieces from the Meli separates by elymode which feature some gorgeously drawn ribbons and bows as accents and I am wearing a bit of mesh: a new hair from Wasabi Pills and the rigged mesh feet from Slink.
Only a few hours now until the Vintage Fair opens at 4 PM and here’s another sneak peek. This time featuring a lovely dress from The Sea Hole, a gorgeous necklace from Donna Flora and, once again, the Rosemary hair from Alice Project. The skin is Piper from Adam n Eve, a striking freckled skin.
To show off the lovely new Piper skin from Adam n Eve—which has gorgeous freckles—I headed for the charming French bakery on Alchemy Immortalis. I also slipped into the new “one size fits all” mesh skirt from Ingenue, yet another new mesh hair from Wasabi Pills, new mesh boots from Insolence and some lovely new jewellery from Dark Mouse. Whew, I think that’s all the newness this time.
Evie’s Closet, where you will find some of the most beautiful gowns in Second Life, is having a sale to celebrate its fourth anniversary. With some exceptions, the mainstore is marked down to 50%. There are some fantastic deals to be had!
However, the gown I am showing today is NOT on sale since it is the very latest release, called Nocturne. But since you get _two_ gowns for the price of one in the Nocturne set, it is pretty much as good as if it was on sale anyway.
I am also wearing yet another new mesh hair from Wasabi Pills, which rapidly is becoming the store for mesh hair, and a mesh necklace from lassitude & ennui.
This last month has brought not just one new skin store to my inventory, but two. Hot on the heels of my acquiring a skin from Eep (review here), I’ve finally succumbed to the siren call of Birth. They’ve been creating skins for awhile, but one of the newest, Nico, really caught my eye.
My wardrobe in RL is not exactly overflowing with lingerie, but in SL its a different story. Not the least thanks to Insolence and the gorgeously detailed sets from camilla Yosuke, such as this new release, Melissa.
I am also trying out one of the latest LeLutka hairs, and this one is mesh. Yes, I do have a mesh hair addiction. But I am still waiting for the knee-long ones. ;) My skin is Adam n Eve’s gorgeous Ariadne with some lovely cosmetics by M.O.C.K.
A few days ago, I received some review copies from Fleur du Mâle for their new ALIVE eyes and I was very intrigued after trying them on. Since the eyes were from the DRAKE series, which are various kinds of inhuman eyes, I had an excuse to break out this Etheria skin from the recent sale at Port Seraphine as well as the Reptilia hair from Wasabi Pills.
Yesterday, Ran and I spent a few hours going through The Flesh Game, this year’s Halloween adventure/puzzle from the Pulse sim. I can’t say I am big on horror in general, but we’ve both thoroughly enjoyed these games for several years now. The amount of work that goes into the story, the build and the scripting is quite amazing and on top of that there are free gifts from participating stores that you can find throughout the game.
In light of this, I wanted to feature some clothing from Sn@tch today, as a thank you for the great fun we had yesterday. I am also mixing in a few things from the 4.44.444 event for Free*Style’s 4th birthday. It ends on the 14th, so make sure to check it out if you haven’t.
I don’t have much in the way of mesh items so far—in part because, as usual, the huge women’s fashion market is getting a lot more attention—but two or three pieces have snuck into the wardrobe, and thanks to Adam n Eve and Wasabi Pills, I’ve a notion for just how to go about it…
I am definitely in a mood for mostly roleplay-related looks these days. Of course, it could be that this is helped along by the sort of new releases I’ve been running into, like the latest hairs from Calico Creations. I have been a fan of Calico’s hairs since I started in SL and the Emily hair was my favourite flexi-curl hair for a long time.
Previously, I’ve featured a mesh hair from Alice Project. Now, there’s another store with mesh hair as well, Wasabi Pills. This store first came to mine and Ran’s attention for being one of the few to offer long hairs for men and for a bit of a focus on styles suited to roleplay looks. The first mesh release fits very well into this pattern. In fact, it started out as Sebastian for the guys and then became Sebastianne for the girls as well.
