I have slipped a bit behind on my blogging of late, but this time it is Second Life itself that is to blame. More specifically, Jammin’s various construction sets. I had been eyeing those for a good while, and when the brand-new Dungeon Construction Set came out, I decided that with that set I could probably construct something castle-like. Not quite a castle yet, since the existing sets don’t quite lend themselves to a full-scale castle, but the dungeon set definitely offers a lot of new interior space options. So, our work in progress is the backdrop for this photo session, which also includes a dress from Fallen Gods and Faida, a necklace from Aisling and a statue from Paper Moon and the Muses under the Visage name.
I have a feeling I won’t be getting more dressed photos done anytime soon, since I have quite a few more items from ROMP to cover and since even other events have ended up offering a lot of mostly-not-there “clothing”. But trust me, I am not complaining; I really like the Physique mesh body and I am always happy to show it off.
This time, its the ieQED gacha from The Gathering that has me prancing about showing off my skin, complimented by We Love Role-Play releases from Calico and lassitude & ennui.
This round of The Secret Affair is inspired by the Vikings. There was a lot of items with at best a very tenuous connection to anything remotely Viking-like, but then there were some very nice pieces as well, clearly showing the theme. Two of them were created by Aisling and I am showing one of them here, together with another favourite hair from Calico.
I love jewellery in both RL and SL, but SL definitely has the advantage in that I can’t really wear nothing but jewellery in RL. Or rather, there never seems to be quite the time and place for it. ;) In SL, however, the opportunities are as many as you want them to be and there are plenty of choices for what to wear. The latest to land in my inventory is two matched sets from ieQED. I also took this opportunity to show off a Pink Fuel skin and a favourite hair from Calico, which has just moved to a new location.
I had collected a few pieces from 22769 ~[bauwerk]‘s Mystery Gacha, but I didn’t have a good idea for how to use them. But then I was reminded of my Landscapes Unlimited skyboxes and decided to setup a desert scene to showcase an upcoming release from aisling as well as a new skin from PXL and a Hair Fair release by Calico.
The Conquest is a Game of Thrones-inspired event and among the brands present are Jian, Faida and Fallen Gods, the former with a new subbrand and the latter two by way of another excellent collaboration. I was pleased to see that there were a good many items that took inspiration from rather than copied too blatantly. For these photos, I paired the items with another event-release from Jian and a pair of gorgeous new eyes from Mayfly.
I can’t believe it is already June (the fact that the weather feels more like April—at best!—probably has something to do with it), but apparently it is true because the June round of We Love Role-Play is about to open at 3 pm SLT. This time, I find myself fully kitted out in new releases from the event, from creators such as PXL, Calico, Luminary, lassitude & ennui and ieQED.
Time for a few more pieces from World Goth Fair, this time courtesy of Senzafine, Bliensen + MaiTai and Black Tulip. Paired with these are items by Calico and the Plastik.
The Plastik is definitely more than fantasy clothes and accessories and the striking gown I am wearing in this post is just one of many examples of the versatility of the brand. Also featured is one of the new hairs from Calico for this round of We Love Role-Play.
The Fairytale Tower pose prop from Exposeur was another find at the One Word event. I actually used it as the setting for my previous post too, setting up a throne in the inner room of the tower, but of course it needed its own post too. The prop includes five single poses (and mirrors of each) as well as three couple poses. The single poses are my favourites, each capturing a classic “princess in a tower” pose. The couple poses also capture a very fairy-tale like feel, especially the one which has the dashing prince climbing over the railing to steal a kiss, but as with all couple poses they can be a bit fiddly if your avatars aren’t of the expected sizes. The tower itself actually makes for a very nice decorative structure as well; I can definitely see having this out permanently, perhaps with some trees and other landscaping around.
At the moment I have a bit of a craving for poses and for landscaping items. I indulged the former today when I visited the One Word event for their Fairytale round, picking up new releases from oOo Studios and Exposeur. And, because the oOo Studios set is made for big gowns, I went at grabbed Giulia from the Muses from the Marketplace.
The collaboration between Fallen Gods and Faida that began quite recently has now produced yet another lovely gown and, even more fabulously, an outfit for those of the male persuasion as well. Ran and I thought our avatars would make a rather fetching couple when dressed in these creations, and fortunately I had some couple poses by An Lar that wanted to see some use.
Valentine’s Day isn’t really much of a tradition here in Sweden, but a touch of romance never hurts. In this case, it appears to be a romance with complication that plays out in the Jousting Pavilion by noctis for We Love Role-Play. I am not sure the royal couple are entirely pleased with each other…
It is time to beat down the doors to yet another event; We Love Role-Play‘s February round has just opened. My first post features items from Luminary, Calico and ieQED, which came together for a rather Dornish-inspired look that I headed off to Kingdom of Sands to photo.
Enchantment opens tomorrow, presenting its final round which is inspired by Beauty and the Beast. I found my way to the lavish library on Caelestium Isle to represent Beauty exploring the Beast’s castle.
