After putting on the Oriana gacha from Voluptas Virtualis and colouring it all up to gold, I was stuck for a while trying to come up with the setting to shoot it in. Then Ran suggested that it felt a bit sci-fi, maybe space opera a la Flash Gordon. Well, I couldn’t quite swing the latter, but I did have the Starship skybox from 22769 and this cool “Specimen Tank” prop from NRage that I had gotten from a gacha ages ago but never used. The final touch was recolouring the Harper hair from Wasabi Pills to use one of the colours from the Solar set rather than plain old black.
I knew right away that I had to get the We Love Role-Play release from 22769. I have always had a thing for sfinxes and while a Grecian sfinx does not look precisely like a Valyrian sfinx (rather than having a lion’s body, they have a dragon’s body and probably more prominent wings), the black version gets close enough. This particular sfinx could of course not be sitting in Valyria proper since the landscape is all wrong for that (but wouldn’t the smoking ruins of Valyria make for a fabulous sim?), but perhaps it was carried off after the Doom and placed here to guard something special.
After a week of being buried beneath a paper on the Romantic image of the Middle Ages, I’ve taken off for space and found an abandoned ship. Or is it abandoned? It seems there might be a surprising visitor on board. Both the ship by 22769 and the spacesuit from Anachron are both from the current round of Genre, which unsurprisingly is themed Sci-Fi.
It has been a while since I last did a video, but I finally got around to properly featuring two of the male LightStar heads. I say “two of” since there’s actually a third one out now, that’s how long it took me to get these done. The main reason for the delay? The lack of Omega appliers for male heads. I haven’t really found many (or any, really) that appeal enough that I’ve been ready to buy them (after all, I mostly wear my female shapes), but fortunately I learned that 7 Deadly s{K}ins were having an egg hunt with both male and female skins as prizes and they tend to do all their appliers in the Omega format. So, I set out to do the hunt and came away with a few really nice male Omega appliers that turned out to fit both Apollo and Robin really well.
I may be entering another decor phase (actually, I am not sure I got out of the last one) which undoubtedly will mean some rearranging on the sim yet again. Today, an in-progress build ended up being exiled into the sky to make room for my latest acquisition from the brand new round of We Love Role-Play. As it happened, it also turned out to be a lovely backdrop for some more new items from the same event plus a belated look at a skin that was released at the Skin Fair.
My favourite pictures to setup and shoot are those where some items are just begging to be shown together. This was definitely the case for the Ghost Town gacha from 22769 and the new cloaks from Paper Moon. A ghostly presence in a ruined, abandoned town, just perfect in my mind.
I had collected a few pieces from 22769 ~[bauwerk]‘s Mystery Gacha, but I didn’t have a good idea for how to use them. But then I was reminded of my Landscapes Unlimited skyboxes and decided to setup a desert scene to showcase an upcoming release from aisling as well as a new skin from PXL and a Hair Fair release by Calico.
We’ve reached the end of May and with it the end of the World Goth Fair is near; the last day is tomorrow, June 1st. I am saying my dark farewell in a gown by Pale Empress and slithery accessories by House of Rain.
From World Goth Fair comes a bed by bauwerk from 22796, a sexy dress by the Plastik and slithery shoes by House of Rain, paired with a makeup by elymode from Cosmetics Fair.
If you’re not already all in black, its time to let your inner goth out to play because today the World Goth Fair by Cursed Events opens. The event sports an amazing, very appropriate build and an excellent selection of designers. In this post, I am giving just a little taste of that, combined with pieces from the Fantasy Gacha Carnival, We Love Role-Play, The Secret Affair and the Dark Style Fair.
ROMP‘s winter fair, Fresh, opens today at noon. As with ROMP’s other events, the focus is “elegant kink” and from the preview that was offered yesterday I would say it does a fine job of living up to that mission statement. There’s furniture and props, clothing, accessories and of course poses. As with most events, there’s more clothing and accessories for the ladies, but there is some for men as well.
bauwerk, the furniture line from 22769, is offering a furniture and prop set where the pieces with animations in come in either pg or adult versions. I decided to set it all up in the new Aspen Villa from Convair for FaMESHed and slipped into some lacy things from Cannibelle, also from ROMP.
Need a new gown in your Second Life? Then pay a visit to Luminary‘s booth at Mystic Realms Faire and find your favourite(s) from four new releases. I’ll be showing two in this post, both against the backdrop of 22769 ~ [bauwerk] and their Game of Kings gacha from The Gathering.
The June round of We Love RolePlay is open and it is, as always, a feast of fantasy garments, accessories, skins, hair and so on. So I thought a little feast of my own would be appropriate, courtesy of the Feast gacha from 22769‘s furnishings line, bauwerk, as well as Leto from Nephilaine Protagonist. But of course I am also showing a selection of We Love RolePlay pieces, from brands such as Kahli Designs (their Exalted line), The Forge, Calico and the Plastik. The final touch is the new roleplay applier for the Taliya skin from Adam n Eve.
The Fantasy Faire has now been going on for a few days and many of you have probably had a chance to visit. If you are anything like me, you probably have favourite stores that you check out first. I even tend to go so far as to make a list of stores to visit for each sim, just to keep myself organised. But if you always head for the known quantities, how are you going to find those exciting new things? The “My New Shiny” Blogger Challenge is about encouraging bloggers—and everyone else—to branch out a bit. When I was on my browsing the sims during the blogger preview, I tried to do so with an eye towards finding something new that would catch my attention. That is how I came across Arx Loricatus. And when I needed an outfit to go with my fancy new sword, one of the review copies sent out seemed to fit particularly well. As it happened, it came from a brand that I’ve never blogged before either, 22769.
