I was struggling a bit with how to do my next post for the Eastern Asia round of Genre, until I realised that the bridge from Yasyn was a lot larger than I had thought and would work quite well to span one of the deep canyons in this mesh landscape. With that in place, the rest quickly took shape and I went off and picked up one of the pose packs from Eternal Dreams.
Midsummer is serious business here in Sweden and as a result I am currently in a bit of a food coma. But of course I had to put together a midsummer inspired scene and fortunately Noble Creations and Paper Moon had just the things I needed for that, with this fantastic throne from the former and the outfit from the latter. I am also wearing another of the new/re-released skins from Adam n Eve, this time Rebecca.
By now, I have mentioned more than a few times how much I love my sky landscapes from Landscapes Unlimited. I keep several of these rezzed at all times at different levels on the sim and it gives me so many options in terms of photo backdrops. Almost too much so, because I’ve neglected finishing up the sim at the ground level! But without the sky landscapes, I couldn’t have this lovely beach setting (which also makes for a lovely home for my beautiful ship from Rustica) to showcase some great new swimwear from alaskametro.
The Lootbox Gacha is opening later today and I have a preview for you from the Plastik. It inspired me to setup a little scene to show off a selection of all the pieces available in the Apothecari Gacha. The Lootbox event is a little different from other gachas in that it offers a Lootbox in addition to regular rares and commons, which can offer things like special sets of commons, ultra rares, etc. I’ve seen a couple more sets in addition to the one from the Plastik and they look like a lot of fun.
Genre’s Eastern Asia round has now opened and as always it offers a mix of clothing, accessories, poses and decor. In this post, I mixed up items from Les Encantades, Bliensen + MaiTai and Anachron, plus a touch of the Plastik from another event, a Fifty Linden Friday hair from elikatira and new makeup from alaskametro.
I am a little bit behind, only now getting around to giving you a look at the Vintage Fair. But I am starting to be less and less eager to beat down the doors of an event on the first day—much nicer to be able to browse with a bit less lag. As the Vintage Fair stretches over two whole sim, you will need a fair bit of time to go through it even with less of a crowd around, so now is definitely a good time. In this post, I am taking a look at Adam n Eve, deviousMind, Roawenwood and Paper Moon, plus a hair from Wasabi Pills (not from the Vintage Fair).
After a break for a few months, I picked up the June Deco(c)rate and did another unboxing video. The theme of “Enchanted Dreams” sounded like it would be right up my alley and I was definitely quite pleased by what I found in the crate.
I will have to be a little briefer than usual today as I’ve done something to the right side of my neck that makes using my right arm quite uncomfortable. I didn’t even manage to ride my full hour today, and that’s how you know something is serious since I have suffered through riding lessons with all sorts of aches and pains. ;)
Anyway, what I have for you today is a campsite from Roawenwood, a harness from Noble Creations and a pair of very useful applier tights from Stitched—for both male and female avatars, yay. As you can see, I am “Frey” today, wearing a new group gift skin from 7 Deadly Skins on my LightStar head.
It took its time, but I think its safe to say that summer is finally here. Of course, the Swedish summer is notorious for being very changeable and sometimes quite wet and chilly, so you can’t always tell it apart from late spring and early autumn. Today, however, the weather is nice (if a bit windy) and I am just indoors because I am still tired after a weekend of dog shows and related activities. But at least that gives me a chance to catch up on some blogging and today it is all about the swimwear.
After a week of being buried beneath a paper on the Romantic image of the Middle Ages, I’ve taken off for space and found an abandoned ship. Or is it abandoned? It seems there might be a surprising visitor on board. Both the ship by 22769 and the spacesuit from Anachron are both from the current round of Genre, which unsurprisingly is themed Sci-Fi.
The Fantasy Gacha Carnival tends to feature some very elaborate fantasy sets and the May round is no different. One of the more spectacular sets that you can play for is Aisling’s Satrinah outfit, of which I am showing one version in this post. I went for the pieces that give it a fantasy harem girl look, with a veil and various pieces of jewellery accompanying the main outfit. But there are also additional pieces to give yourself a much more fantastical look, such as horns, demon eyes or snake eyes and even a pair of wearable snakes that wrap around your body.
deviousMind has a fun lingerie set out for ROMP, so I grabbed one of the commons from the gacha and setup by the pool in one of our NotSoBad houses. They’re getting on in years but still have their uses, though admittedly it is a bit frustrating that they are so large. I am glad that for the most part, builds in Second Life are a bit smaller these days. Sometimes epic is nice, but you don’t always want to look like you walked into a giant’s castle!
It is refreshing to be out of my usual wheelhouse for a bit. This all started with the Anthophila book from the Plastik, a beautifully decorated tome adorned with bees. This prompted a more ...scholarly look, or at the very least something of a librarian look, which was accomplished through clothing from alaskametro and another release from the Plastik, the Hololense glasses.
For this round, Genre has gone Sci-Fi. My roleplay tends to be of the fantasy variety, but there is a lot about Science Fiction that I enjoy as well. For my first post covering the Sci-Fi round, I took inspiration from the skybox from ht:home into which my dress from Senzafine and heels from Bliensen + MaiTai seemed to very nicely. The finishing touch was the hair from .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
We Love Role-Play’s May round (with lots of gifts available, as it is the 4th anniversary for the event) is still going strong but without being completely full, so now is the time to check out some of the great items available. In this post, I paired the huge tavern set from Aisling with a gown from Roawenwood, for the perfect rustic scene. I also called in Ran once again, still in his Arthur head from LightStar, albeit with a different shape.
