Otherworldly

Rain Dance

Its the 4th which means we’re getting another round of We Love Role-Play today and this is a really good one! The star of my first post is undoubtedly the Samantha lehenga for Zaara, a more modern take on the classic lehenga inspired by Bollywood movies.  In the fatpack you can mix and match blouse and skirt colours as well as border colours. The cut of the blouse is very sexy and gives a fantastic look to your cleavage.

I paired the lehenga with two more pieces from the event; a collar from Sigma and heels from Sass. Both offer texture options via a HUD.

The hair is from Wasabi for Uber, a high pony tail that is loosely twisted and tied off.

Last Chances

For today, two reminders of events that are ending soon.

First we have Hair Fair, ending on July 2nd. For curls, Analog Dog is my favourite, and this is a lovely style called Mer. I have also been a fan of their browns and reds for many, many years.

Then Redeux, which ends on June 30th. There you can find an elegant Roman townhouse, perhaps belonging to a wealthy citizen or a prosperous foreign merchant, that is the latest release from Del-ka Aedilis as a part of their new Rome series.

Sorceress of the Mists

A mysterious sorceress, living alone in a grand elven palace permanently enshrouded in mists. Is she about to welcome her visitor or cast a spell on them?

From We Love Role-Play (open until the 28th) comes the magic energy swirls by En Pointe, the leaf wrap bracelets by Sigma and the beautiful build by Tirrany Designs.  Scroll down for more pictures to see the latter two items more clearly. En Pointe’s release includes a HUD that controls the colour and style of the swirls and Sigma’s bracelets also come with several metal options as well as fits for a range of bodies.

The dress is a Petrichor and Ersch collaboration for Midsummer Enchantment. It is highly customizable, allowing you to show or hide the dress and the accessories in sections and of course retexture many pieces individually.

Finally we have the Dasha hair from Wasabi which is a Hair Fair release that donates 15% of the proceeds to Wigs for Kids. This long, straight hair offers four style options and hair clips that can be shown or hidden.

Sword Dancer

With Ryo, the latest NextUp release from deviousMind, you too can become an exotic sword dancer, wearing silk and jewellery and both enticing and intimidating with your skills. This set paired beautifully with an old pose set from HopScotch called Dancing Blades as well as with a brand new hairstyle from Navy and Copper for the Hair Fair. This gorgeous braid can be worn over either shoulder or down the back and the accessory and be hidden for a less ostentatious appearance. But for this, the jewellery was the perfect touch.

Hair Fair runs until July 2nd and as usual the event benefits Wigs for Kids, with all styles sold at the Fair donating a percentage of the sale price. Many sellers also offer lovely gifts, so make sure you browse all the booths on the six sims.

The Bard of the Ruins

Grasshopper St has a great release for male roleplayers at this round of We Love Role-Play. A medieval tunic with a matching cyclas, both with extensive particolour options through the HUD. There is also an embroidery overlay for the cyclas, just as for the earlier Eleanor gown and surcote. For this post, I did not use the embroidery, but I did play around with the colours, including the tinting option to get deeper tones. I’ll note that while I am wearing it over the Slink body, since that is the male body I own, it is not fitted for this body but does cover six other male bodies.

Another release at the event that is available for male as well as female avatars is Sigil’s the Bard’s Lute. This beautiful lute comes with a playable version for male or female avatars with holding and playing animation, a version worn over the shoulder and a version that can be worn on the back or rezzed as a prop. Time to woo the lady in your life with a romantic ballad, perhaps?

A Sorceress’s Abode

The sorceress welcomed them onto the roof of her desert citadel, with a view that stretched even to the distant ocean, and offered them refreshments, the juice of a glowing blue fruit that tasted unlike anything else.

The Tiane dress from Luas for We Love Role-Play called for a full-on fantasy mood rather than something more pseudo-historical. The beautiful jewel tones of the dress paired well with the fantastical Fenfruit set from Cerridwen’s Cauldron, which includes both the fruits themselves and two different beverages made from it presented in different flasks and flagons.

The ornate table, with its gorgeous mosaic top, and the leather pouf are both by Lore. The table includes a HUD with several different wood colours and even more options for the mosaic top, which manages to capture a really glassy look.

Soaking in Luxury

After a busy day, is there a better way of relaxing than in a warm bath? Dutchie‘s latest release lets you relax in a luxurious claw foot bathtub and includes all the additional amenities you might need—wine, for example!  I used the bathtub and the accompanying releases together with some beautiful bamboo arrangements from Kaerri, adding a touch of green lushness to the elegance of the furnishings. The bamboo is from a set called Shiburi which includes several different Japanese-inspired planters and they can be found at the Plaza event which runs for a few more days, until June 13th.

As for the beautiful bathtub and the accompanying releases, it is available at FaMESHed for June. The bathtub comes in a PG and an Adult version, which means you will likely see it again as I explore the Adult options. This post, however, highlights some of the solo PG animations.  There are 20 of those (the Adult has 10 additional mature solo animations), including some with auto-attaching props (using the AvSitter experience) such as a book, a wine glass and a razor.

The tub includes options for the sound (which is very soothing and realistic!) and for the colour of the tub itself and of the metal. The metal options are also available on the mirror (which is available as a wall-mounted and as a leaning version) and on the lamp, whereas the side table has colour options. Both the bath caddy and the side table can be rezzed out either with or without props and the props seen on them are also available as separate pieces for full versatility.

The Journey Begins

The time had come to leave the solitude of the rural keep and return to the court, however much she would have preferred to remain at her chosen retreat. But no, the game demanded all players in position and she would have to take up her appointed role once more.

For the June round of We Love Role-Play, which opens in about an hour, Del-ka Aedilis has released a medieval carriage for travel roleplay. It cannot be used as a vehicle, but it does include poses for being seated in the carriage and it has room for one male and one female sitter. The carriage comes with and without the two hitched horses and also in pure deco versions. There are lots of nice little details, such as the luggage and supplies stacked in the back and I love the little candle inside the carriage. A very nice roleplay prop which I am tempted to try and hitch some Teegle horses to.

The opulent dress, which consists of a pretty undergown (which offers three different styles for the chest and arms) that could be worn on its own and an elaborate overgown, is by Rakshasa for We Love Role-Play. Its beautifully made and fitted for a nice range of bodies.

With the dress I am wearing a new updo from No.Match that I picked up at the Arcade as well as a new skin from Nar Mattaru for the Level event. Since it was made specifically for my favourite LeLutka head, Zora, I could not resist picking it up and I think I will be making some shapes for it as I really like the way it looks. As with all Nar Mattaru skins, it has great character. It also includes some nice extras; a nose fit for other heads than Zora, contours, blush, eyeshadow and a few other things.

Ornamented Courtesan

I love how ornate the Carai outfit from Petrichor and Ersch for the Warehouse Sale manages to be even though there isn’t a lot of it! The thin chains drape beautifully from the pieces of filigree and the fabric (for which there are several different HUDs) is subtly patterned.  There is, of course, also a HUD for the metal which offers lots of different textures.  Prefer feminine pastels or darkly sensual hues? The choice is yours.  I am always drawn to lush colours and I wanted something suited for a courtesan to lounge about in an opulent bed in. Speaking of the bed, it is a favourite of mine, the renaissance canopy bed from Fantavatar & Moonstruck.  The other new release in this post is the hair from Wasabi, featuring two thick braids that can be draped over your shoulders or pushed back behind them. Here I’ve got one of each. You will find it at the Fifty.

The Nymphaeum

Do you need a place for your nymphs to gather? Or a beautiful centerpiece for your formal garden? At PLAZA, you will find the Nymphaeum by Color by Eve.  This build is Inspired by the nymphaea of the Roman period, which have their origins as monuments consecrated to the nymphs, especially those associated with springs. They could serve as sanctuaries, as water reservoirs and also as places of assembly. Water-features and statues were common decorations.

Welcome to the Farm

Ever since the Teeglepets were introduced, I have wanted a nice-looking riding outfit in Second Life.  There have been some out there, but nothing has quite caught my eye. Now, however, there’s a very nice casual riding set out from Cheval D’or. Alana is a full outfit with a sun shirt, shirt, breeches (boot cut and regular), socks and jodphurs. The set comes fitted for Maitreya, Legacy and Reborn and includes a texture hud for lots of different colour combinations. It is perfect both for chores around the barn and for riding in.  As such, it was just the right thing for showing off some more PLAZA goodies, this time centered around Teegle and also Splintered Creations, the creators of the lovely welcome sign shown in the first image.

PLAZA Is Here

PLAZA is a new event focused all on Home & Garden products. The event opened on the 20th of May and runs until the 14th of June, offering two sims full of houses, landscaping, furnishings and much more.  A list of participating stores is provided on the website and each store logo offers a direct link to the store’s location on the event sims.

For my first look at what PLAZA has to offer, I’ve setup a stylish, modern home from Maven Homes. The Deja is a three-room build featuring a large combined kitchen and living room almost entirely surrounded by windows, a bedroom and a bathroom. Various scripted fixtures exist in the kitchen/living room and bathroom, including controls for the lights and the opacity of the windows. The house also comes with a HUD for changing the colour of the walls in each room.

Hunting Partners

What better way to go hunting in the deep woods than with a bow and your trusted wolf?

The gnarly bridge leading over the stream and providing access to the woods is by Lore, as is the tree arch at the end of it. The bridge is almost made to look like it has grown into this shape, with the ends looking like roots. With the tree arch placed at one end, the impression is strengthened. You’ll find both at the current round of We Love Role-Play.

My tunic and my boots are also available at We Love Role-Play, from Viki and Kegel, respectively. The gorgeous long hair is another collaboration between Truth and Wasabi and features four different style options.  The poses and the bow are an older set from HopScotch. And finally, the wolf is of course Teegle’s new release from the Fantasy Faire, here with an applier from The Flying Pony.

Taking Liberties

I love the new dress from Tres for We Love Role-Play. Nephi is a scripted gown available for Inithium Khara, Legacy and Maitreya Lara that offers various states of undress through a Touch-menu. My favourite is this version, with the bodice pulled down to reveal one breast. However, the top only and bottom only versions have an added benefit—you can wear two dresses and get the top and bottom in different colours! I am wearing the Khara size and don’t forget that We Love Role-Play has a raffle for 5 Khara bodies that you can join by wearing the group tag and clicking one of the raffle boards at the event.

Also from We Love Role-Play is the Helvi forehead chain by NeonSheep, a very delicate and pretty piece of jewellery that I have included a close-up of below. It comes with a HUD for texture changes.

Even Ran picked up some new clothing from We Love Role-Play, after I pointed him to the Colorblock Doublet from Stitched. For male RP clothing, Stitched is definitely one of the best sources and this is a really nicely made doublet. I just wish someone was making this kind of clothing in female fits too. ;)

And though you don’t see too much of it, the interior is from Tirrany Designs Stylized Medieval Tavern. I really like the look of this build, but it is quite large and a little difficult for me to get good use of given my attempts at more realistic avatar sizes.

Fantasy Faire 2023: A Last Ride

The Fantasy Faire closed yesterday, but thankfully bloggers had a chance to wander the sims a final time today. I took the opportunity to ride through some of the sims on one of my trusty Teegle steeds and take a few last photos. I hope everyone has enjoyed the Faire and done lots of shopping and exploring. Until next year!
