Holiday preparations and the holidays themselves, not to mention a slight addiction to The Secret World, have kept me rather idle in Second Life for a few weeks. But the photography itch has been there the last week and when I spotted this dress at Bare Rose, I knew it was time for a blog. It also happened to be, or so I think, a rather perfect match for the lovely tiara from lassitude & ennui. I am also wearing a pair of new mesh eyes from Mayfly.
Starting with the dress, the Gainsbourg gown is definitely one of the most beautiful and elaborate mesh gowns I have come across so far. Its wonderfully organic, really capturing the feel of fabric, and the texturing is top-notch. It is also, as all things at Bare Rose, incredibly cheap. You get two colours of this dress for under L$200.
Now, mesh at Bare Rose only comes in a single size, so while June Dion offers a lot of unusual and creative mesh items, not everything works for me. But this gown, however, is pretty easy to work with given that it is a corseted bodice and then a very large skirt. There are also system-layer parts to the top.
The gorgeous tiara is from lassitude & ennui for this round of L’accessorie. There are several metals to choose from and the stones are colour-changing. Not something you’d pair with just anything, but for a grand gown it is the perfect finishing touch.
My eyes are a new release from Mayfly, a beautiful green shade, and my hair is LeLutka’s Jasmine minus the pony tail.
As always, I am very happy to see mesh clothing that branches out a bit from the usual fashion and, of course, mesh accessories that do the same. I know a lot of people like dressing relatively “normally” in Second Life, but my favourite pieces will always be the more fantastical. So, it is a pleasure to see that we’re now getting some in mesh, too. Now we just need that deformer.
