Otherworldly

I’ll have to start off by admitting that I cheated. I really wanted to take this photo on the Zodiac sim at the Fantasy Faire, but the lingerie from Voluptas Virtualis is too revealing for that. So, I used my favourite new workaround—I wore a dress over it that I derendered! A bit cheeky, perhaps, but perfect for when you need to show a lot of skin, such as for a skin review. You see, I am wearing a brand new release from a returning brand that I am really excited about. Skim Within, by Ayesha Bisiani, used to offer some of the most unusual skins on the grid, covering a range of looks and ethnicities. They also included some of the more elaborate makeups for its time. And now Skin Within is back and I am wearing the brand’s first new release, Aaliyah.

Aaliyah was created for LeLutka’s Evolution line, but works well on other heads too, such as the heads in the Slink Visage line. In keeping with Skin Within’s original model, each unique face has its own unique tone, rather than being offered in a set range of tones. Included with the skin are not just brow/no brow versions but lip/no lip versions, which makes lipsticks from other brands easier to wear.

Ayesha has also released two makeup packages to go with the skin, each including six eyeshadows and six lipsticks. Since I am wearing this fabulous crown from Bliensen + MaiTai, I figured that being fairly bold with both the eyes and the lips would suit the look just fine. The lovely updo is by Wasabi for Anthem.

I really like the way Aaliyah looks on Erin, not the least the shading of the nose which gives a very classical look. This is a skin that really shines under windlight and with a subtle touch of materials on.
