I am mad for horses. Always have been and always will be. I am also mad for folklore, legends, mythology and all of that stuff (that’s where my obsession with fantasy started out). So, when I had my big myth phase as a child, I loved the stories with horses in the very best. Eight-legged Sleipnir, winged Pegasus born from blood and sea foam and of course Xanthos and Balios, the fabulous horses of Achilles who were the offspring of a harpy and the west wind. Greek mythology even has a collective name for the various wondrous horses that appear in the stories; they call them the “hippoi athanatoi”, the immortal horses. Hence, the name of our website.
As for this post…well, the Nike crown and wings from ieQED for The Gathering gave me an idea to play around a bit more with the Immortals gacha from Culprit.
The Nike gacha features three types of common crowns, each available in five metals, and two types of rare wings which come with a HUD that allows you to mix various metals on the scales. The mesh work and the texturing is quite stunning, with each scale distinct and separate and a truly metallic effect. ieQED undoubtedly does some of the best metals in Second Life at the moment.
The Maiden dress from Pixicat is also from The Gathering and it is a very satisfactory gacha in that the commons consist of this dress in various colours, meaning you’re always sure to win something useful. I love the way this skirt is modelled; it somehow captures movement and a bit of flounce even though it is stiff. The lace underskirt is lovely and the leather belt is great as well.
My skin is Adam n Eve’s Siobhan, my hair is Exile’s Perfect Promise and the snake-skin patterned shoes are the Pagan sandals from Bushu for the Slink high feet.
