Lady Explorer

A Clockwork Spiral is a steampunk-inspired event benefitting the National Kidney Foundation. There are many delightfully creative items on display from a wide variety of talented creators so do make sure to give it a good look before it closes in one week. For this post, I am wearing a coat by Senzafine and necklace by lassitude & ennui, just a very small selection of what the fair offers.

The Echelon coat from Senzafine is one of those drop-dead gorgeous and unusual pieces that makes you go “must have!” the moment you lay eyes upon it. It comes in a lovely range of dark colours, each with a choice of gold or silver trim, except or the event-only colour which is black with red trim. The belt is separate and comes in bronze or steel.

This coat makes me sigh wistfully for the many stunning outfits produced pre-mesh by hyasynth Tiramisu of Silentsparrow and I can only hope to see more like this from Senzafine to fill that particular void in Second Life.

The Wayfinder choker shows the Victorian roots of steampunk very clearly with the ladylike lace which sets off the harder metalwork and the curiosity of the map in the central designed. It is a choker for a lady ready for an expedition into unknown territories.

My skin is Pixie by the Shops, my hair Truth’s Posy (a messy ponytail which seems just right for a lady explorer) and also from lassitude & ennui are the Buccaneer Boots, available at the current round of We Love Role-Play. The final piece of the puzzle was the leggings from Hucci, fitmesh leggings made specifically for Slink’s Physique mesh body. Needless to say, they fit perfectly and while they are a little more shiny and modern-looking than the ideal for this look, they work very well even so.
