Voluptas Virtualis has two new “barely there” sets out for the latest round of Whore Couture. The first is a delicate set of chain drapery and the second features piercings and lacing between them. I admit, my tastes definitely run more to the former, I rather like the idea of wearing nothing but some jewellery. I’ve used Dutchie’s performer chair, stage and stage lights to setup an intimate performance. Needless to say, this is not quite safe for work.
I am so excited! I just discovered that Mythril has finally released several interactive pose sets for Teegle horses and riders. There have been lots of pose sets for just the horses before, but these are among the first sets that include poses for the riders as well (this includes some sets where the rider is posing besides the horse rather than on it). I want them all, but I had to restrain myself a bit and started with the Action set which includes canters, gallops, rears and even an archery pose that I need to pick up a bow for.
For my dashing outfit I made use of ContraptioN (love the Crossroads Walker set with hat & mask) and lassitude & ennui and in the background you have the ruins from Fanatik (don’t miss their sale!).
The blindfold is what really makes this set from Aleutia stand out and it created a very strong image in my head of how I wanted to show it. But it also needed the right pose and after some searching I found this languid pose from Serendipity which was just right for capturing a sense of abandon and hedonism. The peacock stockings from Luxuria adds a further touch of decadence.
Ever since I started renting a full sim, I have become somewhat obsessed with acquiring landscaping items and buildings. I am constantly changing up pieces of the sim for photos, so as a whole it always looks like a work in progress, and now that extends to sky landscapes as well. I guess I did not really need a path system, but when Studio Skye released the Woodland Path Building Set, I couldn’t resist it. Especially not since I joined their group a while ago and new releases are sold at 50% off to the group for the first weekend. So, then I had to build up a little area to show it off, which meant adding in the Scots Pine forest from Studio Skye and a few castles from Fanatik as well. Fanatik is currently having a big sale with up to 50% on a lot of items, so if you are similarly obsessed, don’t miss that!
I was going for something elegant and seductive to show off this lingerie set with plentiful lace applique from Voluptas Virtualis. But as I was playing around with the lighting, Elio glanced over at my screen and said “oh, that looks nice, its so moody”. And I had to agree. The simple setup, the stark shadow and the pose from oOo Studios came together really nicely like this. The simple, clean lines of the Vivid hair from Truth plays into that as well, and the earring from Kunglers provides a striking accent.
Sometimes, simple is best. I wanted to show off the colour and texture of the gown from Les Encantades without any obstructions. It is quite pretty, though I find the waistline a little too narrow for a natural look, even when taking some corsetting into account. The gown is available at Redeux which runs for two more days. The pose by OMY is also from Redeux. My hair is from Magika’s latest collection, with all-new textures that I think look fantastic. And of course I am in one of my Fanatik castles.
I have been buried under work the last week and I still haven’t dug myself out fully, but I have so many pretty things to share that I did have to make room for some Second Life as well. Both Enchantment and Redeux are going on right now (and Redeux has been extended to August 24th!) so I made a medieval mash-up of items from both events and created a small town and a somewhat overgrown village green (the sheep have not been doing their job lately) with an old well. Then I popped over to We Love Role-Play and found myself a new dress from Senzafine as well.
There’s a new event in town, the Itty Bitty Titty Committee, which features items for Legacy Perky, Maitreya Lara’s Petite add-on and the Petite add-on for Slink Physique Original and Slink Physique Hourglass. In short, the body variations that offer support for a smaller bust. In this post, I am featuring a tunic by Faida & Velvet Whip which I am wearing on the Legacy Perky body. To set the scene, I am using two different releases from Roawenwood plus a very atmospheric backdrop from Paleto. I am also wearing another skin from the alaskametro Garden Party hunt.
Last month, I featured Dutchie’s Red Brick Café. At the August round of FaMESHed, the café was joined by two more classic red brick buildings, one intended as a store and one as a residential building. Each (including the café) also received a terrace and a version without side windows, so that you can put them close together.
I took on the challenge of showing these buildings off and built a little mini-quarter with them, with the residential building in the middle and the café and the store flanking it. The store I turned into an used book store, using the bookcases from Dutchie. And I turned my avatar into the lucky girl living right between a café and a book store. ;)
Of course the heatwave hits a week after we return from our vacation right by the sea, making me wish I was some kind of mer-creature living in the actual ocean. Maybe not so nice in wintertime here in Sweden, but right now it would be glorious. If you too have a craving for the waves, you might also want to slip into the latest release from deviousMind, Meerilyn. I am also wearing Wasabi’s latest release, the pretty Sora hair, which is available at Anthem.
Thanks to the Second Life Destination Guide, I found Voodoo Land when looking for a spot to photo the Solitaire dress from Adam n Eve. The dress is out at the current round of the Liaison Collaborative which happens to have Viva Las Vegas as its theme. Voodoo Land isn’t quite Las Vegas, but it has a lot of great spots for city life photography.
We’re back home again after our vacation, which means we have two sad dogs missing the beach and having free run of the nearby woods. But it also means having a bit more time to kill in front of the computer. For the last few days, I have spent some time messing around with the Firestorm Beta with EEP. Its…interesting, but so far I am not seeing any great advantages and a few drawbacks. Anyway, this photo is taken with the beta, so its perfectly possible to use it for blogging.
I am actually wearing a new (for me, that is) body in this shot: the Legacy Perky body from The Shops. I do like the upper body a lot, but just like on the Maitreya Lara the hips need an awful lot of tweaking to look normal and not exaggerated. I absolutely love the body skins that come with it and wish there were matching head skins, but the neck fade system works pretty well for matching to other brands. In this case, a skin from Adam n Eve.
I haven’t found much time for Second Life this last week, but now the weather has turned a little worse, giving me some time to share some beautiful treasures with you. Despite being on a mobile connection and a laptop, I managed to make my way to the Epiphany when it opened. Once there, my luck held and I was able to collect much of the Fair Lady set from Old Treasures.
I have to admit that in Second Life I am often a “bigger is better” kind of girl—at least when it comes to hair! And the Temptress style from Exile, available at the current round of Epiphany (which I somehow managed to get to on my laptop and a mobile connection out in the woods), is both big and bold. It also has a bit of a windswept feel to it that I think suited the Dancing Star poses from Astalianda very well. They, in turn, set just the right mood for the pretty Gelsey halter with its tassels from Paper Moon. I must say that I think it manages to match up very well with the skirt from the the Dreaming Thicket, both in style and colour scheme. I kept with the purples in the decor as well, when selecting one of the Oasis tents and Oasis firepits, also from Paper Moon.
We’re off on vacation right now and the weather has actually turned quite lovely, so what am I doing at my laptop? Well, a lazy morning never hurts and I did want to share the latest release from Slink, the very sexy body jewellery set Leila. This style of “clothing” is hardly unique in Second Life, but if you are a Slink body lover just like me you are not spoiled with many such releases. This set comes fitted for both Slink bodies, plus the petite chest variations. Via the included HUD it has a very nice selection of metal textures and includes a naughty and a nice mode (I am wearing the latter here).
The poses I am using are both from WetCat’s Spiral set for La vie en pose, which are made for a particular staircase but also suit others, and the backdrop is by Paleto.
