The current round of We Love Role-Play is almost over, but you have until the end of the 28th to take a look! For my final post for the September round I picked out the Cecil gown from Lorien, which makes really great use of PBR for the dress texture and to bring out the embroideries on the dress. Sometimes it gets too shiny, but this one really sells a fabric texture with a more metallic decoration. I paired it with the tiara from NeonSheep which has a classic medieval look and which also is available at WLRP.
From the Engine Room comes the final new release, the cool Four of Swords hair style from Magika. I turned off the optional bangs and matched the colour of the swords to the tiara and the gold of the dress, but there are more metal options included on the HUD. And, of course, the HUD is a fatpack of hair colours for just L$ 450, quite the steal.
It is still a learning process to get the lighting just right to show off PBR as well as possible, but I am pretty pleased with how this gorgeous Teeglepet tack set from ContraptioN came out in my photos. The Carousel Trappings set is a beautiful rendition of the tack of a classic carousel horse, now available at the Dog & Pony Show for the vast majority of Teeglepet horse breeds. I decided to pick it up for the Pegasus, since a baroque horse suits my image of a carousel horse. The set includes both fallback and PBR textures, but of course I wanted to use the latter and the leather in particular is spectacular. I am also using a new coat for the Pegasus, the Glimmer coat from Hoofbeatz, also available at the Dog & Pony Show.
I picked up two more poses from Animosity after discovering their horse & rider poses through the Dog & Pony Show, to get a bit of a circus girl feel to these photos. My outfit is perhaps more Steampunk than circus, a new release from Petrichor & Ersch for the Engine Room (which has so many cool new releases this time around). The huge hud with texture options meant that it was easy to come up with a combination that suited the colours of the tack.
We Love Role-Play meets the Dog & Pony Show in today’s post, which dresses up the Teeglepet Akhal Teke with the brand-new Regalia tack set from Cheval D’or (which includes both PBR and fallback textures) and the Akhal Teke Gold applier from the Texture Barn. On this handsome eastern steed, a rogue rides into a medieval city, wearing a PBR-textured outfit from Project and a very fancy bejewelled eyepatch from Pendulum, both from WLRP.
The Teeglepet we’ve already looked at in a prior post, though I think I forgot to mention that the default texture is a PBR-texture, just like on the Marwari. The Regalia set, like the Dune Lord set, draws inspiration from traditional Marwari tack, but it has been made available for the Akhal Teke as well and looks fabulous on it. And of course it offers a number of texturing options for all the different pieces. The applier from the Texture Barn is a classic Akhal Teke colour, a burnished gold, which also shows off how lean and thin-skinned these horses tend to be, by including detailed muscles and veining.
The outfit from Project includes shirt, breeches and boots and very extensive texturing options for all pieces, including the ability to separate out buttons and different parts of the boots. The PBR textures look amazing on the boots in particular, but it is tougher to get non-shiny surfaces like the shirt to be completely realistic. However, this is definitely a brand to keep an eye on if they plan to keep making such nicely texture role-play outfits for men. Finally, we have the eyepatch from Pendulum, which comes in a left eye and a right eye version and includes both PBR and fallback textures on the HUD. I would have liked the design to include how it is supposed to be fastened, I admit, even if it is obviously designed for the visual impact rather than being at all functional.
Oh, and I lied, I did have one more thing to mention. The Courney hair from Magika is a new release that is out at Access and I do love that she keeps including male sizes on all her hairs.
As I mentioned in my previous post about the Dog & Pony Show, Teegle has two new Teeglepet horses out for the occasion. I’ve shown you the gorgeously gleaming Akhal Teke and now the time has come for the Marwari horse from India, perhaps best known for the unusual shape of its ears, which curl inwards at the tips. While its exact origins are uncertain, it may have Turkmene horses in its ancestry, which would make it distantly related to the Akhal Teke. The Teegle team have captured the distinct look of the Marwari beautifully and as an additional release on the 15th of September they also put out the Dune Lord tack set, based on the traditional trappings for a Marwari horse. Like the two new horse releases themselves, this set also uses PBR textures (though there is an extra HUD with fallback textures for non-PBR viewers included as well). The set offers a lot of texture customisation and you are able to pick and choose which parts to use, so it can serve as a somewhat less ornate look as well.
To take these photos, I headed over to Zaara’s store for appropriate Indian surroundings. I also picked out one of her lovely outfits to wear, matching the colours to those of the tack set. I think we look rather eyecatching together, me and my new Marwari friend.
Time to get in touch with my Viking roots and set sail on a longship. At least virtually and once this ship is ready to be launched. Right now, it is still in the shipyard and needs to be guarded against those who might steal or sabotage it. Fortunately, I have some wickedly sharp weapons from Angelicus on hand.
The shipyard with the in-progress longship is a new release from Moon Coven for We Love Role-Play. It comes in a handy rez box that allows you to easily adjust the positioning once it is rezzed out. This is a beautifully detailed build with ladders and walking planks that allows for proper roleplay as a worker on the ship and there is a room with tools and drawings of the design as well for added atmosphere.
The weapons from Angelicus are also from WLRP, a set of prop weapons with different options for how you hold the spear and on which side the knife and axe hangs. They are modifiable, which is good because I needed to size up the belt.
Finally, we have the Fosca dress from Les Encantades, also from WLRP. A bit of a ragged dress with some runic embroidery at the neckline and a raven design on the skirt, so very appropriate for the Norse theme.
Autumn may be here but it can still get hot outdoors, especially if you have added some extra features to your lovely new white fence. No one is going to wonder what those rings are about, right? The Secret Garden - Straight Fence Wallboard piece fits right in with the Secret Garden - Straight Fence Set, allowing you to tuck away a bit of naughtiness right among your otherwise perfectly innocent decor thanks to DICTATORSHOP. The Wallboard uses the AVsitter engine and has room for two submissives and one Dominant. In the Adult Kink version, it offers several different varieties of animations: solo and duo for submissives, femdom and maledom for submissive(s) and Dominant, and femdom and maledom also has several subcategories each. Both the Wallboard and the decor fence features 7 wood options and 5 metal options.
The outfit I am wearing is a Petrichor & Ersch collaboration for the current round of Kinky. It has a bit of a burlesque feel and of course it comes with a ton of texture options for both the fabric and the pearls/chains. Very cool look, I thought, though I suppose someone would wonder if you wandered about your garden dressed like that. ;) The short, sassy hairstyle which falls so sexily across one eye (though you can have it more away from the face too) is a Truth Collective release by Truth and Wasabi.
The amazing Dog & Pony Show is back! From September 6th to October 6th you can visit the biggest animal-themed event in Second Life to shop everything you might possibly need for your Teeglepets and Teegle avatars. Coats, tack, barn accessories and whole barns, it is all available. But of course, this is not just a shopping event, but there will also be plenty of performances and demonstrations as well as the amazing One of a Kind auctions. Do not miss out on this!
As always, Teegle has gone all-in and has no less than FOUR new pets available at the event. There is a cropped as well as a natural Doberman and two new horses, the Indian Marwari with its very special ears and the gleaming Akhal Teke with its unique metallic coat. I will be showing you all of these and I just had to give golden Hakan the Akhal Teke the first post. Such a special beauty he is, shining gorgeously in the evening light. A video would have been even better, but alas I have a stubborn cold that has me croaking and sniffling.
Like all Teeglepets Hakan comes in a no copy or a copy version, allowing you to have a whole herd of these rare horses if you so desire. Various add-on creators have already refitted their tack to the new breeds and there will also be a couple of brand-new tack sets from Teegle later on during the event. For this post, I decided to show off my avatar’s horsemanship and went without bridle and saddle, which of course looks particularly fancy when also using a couple of the archery poses from Animosity that are also available at the event. These pose both horse and rider and include bow props for each pose and there is both a male and a female set.
A priestess of the moon awaits you in her temple, the sacred pool behind her reflecting the sky above the atrium. What mysteries can she reveal to you?
Welcome to the September round of We Love Role-Play, where you will find—among many other fantastical releases—the Cyclus crown from Bliensen+MaiTai and the Corabella gown by Luas. A discount of between 15% and 30% is offered on all new releases, so there are great deals to be had as well.
The crown is unrigged mesh that can be resized and repositioned if needed. It is adorned with two full moons and three crescent moons and mixes various metals that have a slightly worn and tarnished look, which adds to the realism of the piece.
The gown comes fitted for several different bodies, including Lara X. It includes a HUD for texture changes, allowing for a two-toned dress and a separate corset/belt colour, as well as a choice of gold or silver for the jewellery on the belt. It is a bit on the long side, which usually isn’t an issue with mesh gowns, but here I found it seemed to expect a pair of high heels.
Time for an overhaul of your virtual kitchen? Then you should definitely be heading over to Uber for the current round, which happens to be their 10-year anniversary. Among the great new releases is one by Dutchie, a modular kitchen that will make it easy to setup your very own dream kitchen. Of course it uses the very latest in textures, meaning it takes advantage of PBR and requires a PBR-enabled viewer. This of course called for a video to really show that off as well as to demonstrate some of the animations.
The modular kitchen offers customisation of textures as well as how you arrange the set of base cabinets together with the additional pieces (sink, cooker, kitchen island, fridge and top cabinets). It comes in either a PG or an Adult version, 40 couple animations in the former and 100 in the latter. There are also over 30 animations rezzing scenes and props and the Adult version is compatible with Aeros and The Physics Cock as well as the Lovense Sex Toy. This is, however, an entirely PG video as I didn’t have Ran on hand for showing any of the couple animations. Too bad, because I think the Maggie outfit from Faida (here worn on Inithium Khara) is a really cute little outfit. And I like the attitude of Wasabi’s Starlight hair, with several thin braids and optional glowing bands woven into them.
The last weeks of summer are here, lazy and golden. I don’t have a swing in my garden, so I have to settle for lounging on one virtually instead, again courtesy of Dictatorshop who has released three different styles of swings recently. I already showed one suited to a beach and here is one of two intended for a garden setting. The other is a single-person swing whereas this one offers male and female single poses but also couples cuddles and a version with adult animations to take your swinging to new heights. Pun definitely intended.
This Loveseat Swing from the Secret Garden series includes texture options for both wood and fabric as well as foliage options for the tree for different seasons. There are 70 PG couple animations and 180 Adult Vanilla options.
The fanciful outfit is a new NextUp set from deviousMind, featuring a roses & thorns motif with swirling skirt attachments. There are several different ways to wear it depending on which sets you manage to win. Worn with it is the latest Truth Collective release from Truth and Wasabi, a high ponytail which falls over one shoulder and can be worn with and without bangs.
Have you upgraded to a PBR viewer yet? If not, and if your computer can handle it, do make the jump! The benefits when it comes to textures is amazing and showcased beautifully in the latest release from Fanatik, the Altamira Cavern. With this building kit you get 26 mesh building elements, 6 props and a texture HUD that includes 3 variations on the rock materials. You also get 7 pre-built cave examples, to give a sense of what you can do with this kit. I headed over to Fanatik’s own demo on their sim and shot a quick little video to show off the beauty of the PBR textures. As usual, you can find credits at the end.
What could be better than lazing about on a swing hung from a palm tree, soothed by the gentle sound of waves? Well, perhaps doing so together with your lover and getting up to something naughty? Whatever you prefer, the Palm Swing from the Bondi series by DICTATORSHOP has you covered. It includes sits and lays for a single avatar, PG couple poses for MF, FF and MM and Adult couple poses for MF, FF and MM. Texture options are included for both for the palm tree and for the swing.
A bikini might have been more comfortable, but I love the look of this Petrichor & Ersch release for Kinky Monthly. As always, you get a ton of texture options via the HUD.
My hair is the latest release from Wasabi, a short, summery style out for Anthem.
Back from vacation IRL and as usual exhausted by it, so only slowly getting back into things. Before I left, I did not have time to use this gown from Lorien for July’s round of We Love Role-Play, so I wanted to rectify that. Fortunately, since the event always takes a break in August, the July round is still up and available.
The Karen outfit is a linen gown with a tooled belt and some modest detailing, making it suitable for a woman of some means, if not a noble lady. Here, the mistress of the house is inspecting the kitchens, perhaps in advance of an important meal. The kitchen furnishings, as well as the house itself, are earlier releases from Del-ka Aedilis.
I am heading off on vacation tomorrow and will only have my laptop for a couple of weeks, so I am not expecting to do much—if any—blogging. But before heading out, I just had to show a few more pieces from We Love Role-Play.
Alia Baroque’s Libertine brand offers decadent furnishings and the Swan daybed is no exception. Rich textures (there’s a variety of fabrics included) draw your eye, inviting a virtual touch. The Swan comes in Adult and Mature versions, with both single (male and female) and couple poses (cuddles, sex, vampire). In the background, I added the rustic mirror from Constraint, well suited to the roughness of the bare castle walls. Finally having real mirrors can add so much depth and life to a scene.
I thought the Leigh fantasy lingerie from deviousMind was a great match for the Swan, seeing as its a fanciful mix of pearls and feathers. Very minimal and very pretty.
Deep in the desert, a tall gate reaches towards the sky. It is set in no wall and seems to offer entrance into nothing at all, yet legends warn against passing between the enormous pillars. Those who have, or so it is claimed, have never been seen again.
Out now at We Love Role-Play, the awesome Metatron Gate by Vae Victis is a huge piece of fantasy decor, with beautiful texturing and detail. Up close, there are swirls of energy along the insides of the pillars. The HUD allows you to mix and match 5 metal textures across different parts of the pillars.
The gate made for an excellent backdrop in this desert scene, where I am also showing off Rakshasa’s release for WLRP, the Roman-inspired Stefanos outfit (with a sword from LR Weapons added to it). The outfit is highly customizable in terms of the textures and colours, offering both clean and bloody or tarnished versions.
