The last two days it seems like half the grid (at least) have been trying to get into the Epiphany. And no wonder, really, because there are some very cool gachas this time around. I’ll be featuring just a taste of two of them in this post, the Terra Decor Gacha from the Plastik and the Cadeau, Costume Edition by Fallen Gods & Faida.
A new round of ROMP, the event for elegant kink, opened today and my first post (it tends to end up being more than one when it comes to ROMP) features Roawenwood and Aisling. The latter brand have two new sets out at the event, both under the new sub brand of Voluptas Virtualis. I am more than a little thrilled to finally have some superb mesh lingerie for Slink Physique to play with. Sadly, many other great sets at the event were Maitreya only.
Yesterday, I was setting up to take some photos for the Deco(c)rate contest, and after I was done it struck me that I might as well get a nice shot of my new lingerie from Chocolate Atelier while I was at it, plus focus more closely on the lovely bench from Stockholm & Lima that was in the January Deco(c)rate. Only later did I notice that I had failed to active the sleeve layer for the underwear, but fortunately I think the bodysuit looks quite nice whether it is worn with or without the sleeves.
I just couldn’t resist using the fabulous Neptune’s Revenge from Rustica for another set of photos. With the fantastic Roslyn gown from Junbug and a pretty companion wearing the fabulous Marquis outfit from Last Ride I think there is a distinct romance cover vibe about these shots.
I have had a few things land in my inventory recently that suggested to me that it might be a good idea to make a male shape in order to be able to review them. So, a while back I got myself setup with the Slink Physique for men as well as the matching hands & feet. This is all still on my usual account though, so rather than an alt this is just Freyja in a more (somewhat more) manly form, wearing a new skin from the Plastik and an outfit from Noble Creations.
The Silent Light build from 8f8 was one of my favourite items from the January Deco(c)rate that I unboxed just a few days ago, so of course I had to feature it on its own as well. It seemed to me it would make a nice backdrop for the other key items in this post, which are a current and an upcoming release from the Plastik.
A new year and a new Deco(c)rate. I couldn’t resist subscribing for January as well since I liked the two previous boxes and since the previews looked tempting. The theme, “Frozen Elegance”, also sounded like it would suit me well. As it happens, it most definitely did and I was very pleased with the contents of this Deco(c)rate. I ramble on about this at some length in the unboxing video, which is a little later than usual since I spent most of Sunday at a dog show. I will blame it on being tired that I forgot to take off the HUD for the FATElashes, apologies if that is distracting to have on the video. I seem to mentally edit out the presence of my HUDs.
Just a bit of a cosy winter scene for today, featuring a new hair from Wasabi Pills and a new-ish outfit from Paper Moon that has just the right feel for cuddling up in comfort and style. We did finally get some RL snow as well, though today it is melting again and making everything terribly slippery. So much for the nice walk in the woods we had planned with the dog for today.
There is something oh so romantic and adventurous about an old-fashioned sailing ship (especially if it comes with a dashing pirate captain included, but I digress…) and I have always wanted a nice ship in Second Life. Not so much for sailing (though Ran used to like to do a bit of that), but it can make for a lovely place to admire a virtual sunset from. No surprise, then, that I have following Maxwell Graf’s work on his mesh ship with interest. It has, as I also mention in the video (yes, there’s one of those), been quite a long process, but now Neptune’s Revenge is finally complete and out at Rustica and on the marketplace. And she’s a beauty, as I hope I have managed to show in both the photos and the video.
This will be a little bit of a quickie since we’re about to get ready for midnight here in Sweden, but I wanted to get my virtual greeting out first. 2016 has been an exciting year in Second Life (my tenth, in fact—I totally missed my rezday this summer!) and I continue to enjoy it as an important part of my online existence. I expect to be around next year as well, doing more photography and videos. Of course, with Sansar around the corner I probably will have to check that out too (and I have some idle thoughts about how I’d like to use it…), but I am not abandoning my enormous inventory in Second Life anytime soon!
I’ll get proper credits and a few more details added into the post as soon as I can, but for now I will tell you that I am wearing brand new lingerie from Sn@tch and a hair from Wasabi Pills that will be out tomorrow at FaMESHed. I am also wearing the Simone Bento head, this time with the Taryn skin from the Plastik which is out in its full version today.
I am continuing my quest to recreate various of my shapes using LeLutka’s Simone, with varying success. I am pretty pleased with this attempt, especially with the Heidi applier from PXL, which I’ve had around to blog for a good while but not been able to until now as I didn’t have a LeLutka head earlier. That is certainly one aspect I am looking forward to know that I have a bento head, namely being able to do some skin shopping and skin blogging again as there has been a bit of a shortage of system head skins of late.
It is soon time to start shaking off the food coma of the holidays and get back to work. But today is still one of the lazy days of year (especially since its half a storm outside) so I decided to play around a bit with my pony. Well, my alt-as-a-pony, but that’s good enough for me. I am still waiting for someone to release a set of tack that’s right for a medieval/fantasy look, so until then the basic bridle and a saddle pad will have to do as my adventurer sets out in her new outfit from Aisling.
A few days ago, Siddean Munro announced that a big update of all three Slink bodies has been completed. She also released video tutorials for the core feature of the update, namely the brand new HUD. I have been playing with the new HUD for a while and I’ve found it a huge improvement both in terms of layout and functionality. To add my own spin to the tutorials available, I decided to spend Christmas Day recording another video.
It took a lot of demoing, tweaking and thinking, but eventually I did decide to purchase LeLutka’s Bento-enabled mesh head, Simone. And even though there’s already a great video by Strawberry Singh looking at the head in detail, I wanted to make one myself, discussing some of my thoughts about mesh heads and shape-making for mesh heads. I talk a bit about what I like (and don’t like quite so much) about the head, go over some of the functions of the hud and test a few different shapes that I have been working on for this head.
Yesterday, Froukje Hoorenbeek of Dutchie plurked that she had a new release. She managed to make it sound very intriguing by saying that it made her blush, so I headed right over to her store to check it out. I didn’t have time to find it before she dropped a folder on me and said that she’d like to see what I’d write about it. The name of the item was the “Pet Pillow” and that alone had me hurrying back to my sim to check it out. As you might guess, this post will be heading into NSFW territory, even though the pillow is actually for solo use. But trust me, it is very useful even so and there are a total of 100 animations packed into it. As a result, this post has 10 images below the cut, so it might take a little time to load.
