With our website woes sorted out (upgrading never goes as planned) I can catch up on two posts that were supposed to be done yesterday but which turned into just Flickr posts for the time being. The first features new lingerie from alaskametro together with a very sweet gacha from the Plastik.
Since I spent the weekend at a couple of dog show’s in Norway I was only able to visit Enchantment yesterday to peruse what Cinderella had inspired this round’s designers to create. It turned out to be quite a nice collection, capturing different facets of the fairy tale. There were, as one would expect, quite a few stunning ballgowns, but what also caught my eye was this shorter dress by the Muses. It seemed like the sort of thing one might wear when wandering about an enchanted wood…
My favourite pictures to setup and shoot are those where some items are just begging to be shown together. This was definitely the case for the Ghost Town gacha from 22769 and the new cloaks from Paper Moon. A ghostly presence in a ruined, abandoned town, just perfect in my mind.
I like it when things in SL happen at midnight SL time. That’s 9 am for me and just around when I get up, which means I can lazily start my day with browsing an event or—on certain days of the month—opening up a subscription box. Today, it was a bit of both, as I managed to squeeze into Collabor88 just as it opened to snag one of the new Exile hairs and then the February Deco(c)rate arrived as well. That meant it was time to setup for an unboxing video, though that had to wait for some RL work to be done first. Once I did get around to the unboxing, I was pleased to find that the designers had created some very nice decor items for the “Timeless Romance” theme. The photos show only one of the 15th items in the crate, so to preview all of them you’ll need to check out the video towards the end of the post.
Given the scarcity of gorgeous male historical/fantasy clothing in Second Life (unless you’re a grungy barbarian), I am always really thrilled when I come across something that I know Ran will want for his avatar. One brand that is sure to never disappoint in that regard is Junbug’s male side brand/sub brand, fittingly named Heathcliff. At the Fantasy Gacha Carnival, she has a gorgeous set of tunics and matching knee breeches which I promptly spent some money on and then passed over to Ran with orders for him to get dressed. As it happened, I had a new dress to blog, so we made it a little scene in a tavern.
It is still a few days left until the Fantasy Gacha Carnival opens on the 7th, but here you can get a look at some of the pieces from the elaborate Daemonus gacha from the Plastik. I’ve paired it with a new two-part outfit from Senzafine while staying with the gorgeous Opal hair from Wasabi Pills that I wore in my last post.
We Love Role-Play have opened their February round and I have to say this looks like a particularly nice one. Its always a high-quality event, but even so I came away from there with an unusually high number of demos to go through. The first item I will be showing off, however, is a set of review copies from the Muses, paired with new releases from Aisling and Wasabi Pills. And I am still in my LightStar Athena head.
The (Fetish Fair) just opened today and Aisling has three new releases there as part of their Voluptas Virtualis sub brand. This post focuses on one of them, a very revealing harness that mixes leather and lace. Also new is my hair from Wasabi Pills and an eyeshadow from Adam n Eve, available at the Linden Lab Shop Your Heart Out event.
Its time to queue up to get into the Gacha Garden once again and I’ve got a video for you showing the beautiful Seraphim wings from lassitude & ennui that is just one of many gachas available at this round. As a bonus you also get another look at the bento horse avatar from Teegle, now outfitted with a new skin and some new poses, and the sexy and awesome Valkyrie set from deviousMind.
I have been wanting to photo the second version of Stockholm & Lima’s Victorian bench from the January Deco(c)rate for a while, so when I received a set of chairs and a cart with refreshments from Roawenwood for the Draftsman event, I determined to do something about it. A trip to Sn@tch to take advantage of their huge sale and a trip to Uber to pick up the new Truth hair, and I was set. Well, I also had to get Ran on and dressed for the occasion, since it would be very lonely to photo a Victorian spanking bench on my own.
Following my video review of LightStar’s Athena mesh head, I am now taking a look at the second female Bento head from LightStar. This one is called Marian and has a softer look than Athena, who has a bolder face. Like Athena, Marian will soon be updated to 1.3, but what you are seeing here is version 1.2. The updates are taking a little longer than I might have indicated in my video and this is because the creator has decided to merge the different head layers into one object as well as merge the different HUDs into one. This will definitely offer a better user experience and deal with some of the concerns I voiced in the video. The updated heads will also include a matching body applier. For these photos, however, I am once again using PXL’s Heidi applier, this time in the SunKissed tone.
A few weeks ago I picked up the Curvaceous pose set from oOo Studio and it turned out to be just what I needed for this post about Aisling’s second ROMP release, the Zina lingerie. As a backdrop I am using the Grande Royale Bed from Roawenwood which really lives up to its name by being quite large and opulent.
With so many events having started around the same time in January, it is easy for some to go overlooked next to others. For example, have you been to ROMP or spent all your time trying to get into the Epiphany? If gachas aren’t your fancy, but a bit of elegant kink is, then you don’t want to risk missing the current round of ROMP. After all, who doesn’t need some pole dancing poses and dead-sexy lingerie? Also featured in this post is a new release from the Plastik for Shiny Shabby.
I didn’t think it would happen quite so quickly, but I have found another bento mesh head that is to my tastes. This one comes from a smaller brand called LightStar, but while they may not be as well-known as Catwa or LeLutka, they already have four bento mesh heads out, two female and two male. In this video, I go over what appeals to me about the Athena head as well as some of its limitations. I also show it with three different skin appliers (the head is Omega compatible) from PXL, alaskametro and the Plastik. In addition to the mesh head, the video also showcases a line of new gowns released by the Muses.
A bit of magic might be exactly what I need to have some luck with gachas. I really wanted to put together a full set of the Wicca outfit from deviousMind and the machine was not prepared to co-operate at first (sometimes, nothing is so frustrating as a duplicate rare when all you wanted was a common of a certain colour). Fortunately, I did manage before I broke my budget entirely and with that hurdle out of the way, I was able to put together a magical little scene using items from Roawenwood and Paper Moon.
