A new dress and new shoes from the Plastik, together with a very eye-catching tattoo from Fallen Gods and a short, sassy bob from Wasabi Pills (a gacha which also comes in a version with cat ears) inspired me to pay a visit to the wrong side of town. I derendered a few zombies and dead bodies, since I am not quite ready for that much Halloween in all of my photos, but the eerie feel of the green lights was just perfect.
The second Shadow Box from Death Row Designs was released earlier this week, once again presenting a Light and a Dark version of a similar set of decor items. Do note that it says “similar” and not “identical”; the idea with the Shadow Box is not simply to recolour and do some small tweaks to the dark versions—sometimes they can be substantially different, but still on the same basic theme.
As with the first one, I have a video to share, though this is more of a reveal than an unboxing as I really wanted to show the items arranged as I might use them rather than simply rezzed out at random. To learn more about Shadow Box and how to subscribe, make sure to visit the DRD website linked above. And remember, if you get all six boxes in a series, there is a bonus item at the end.
Its that time of the year again, when all of SL gets covered in pumpkins and cobwebs. There are no pumpkins in sight in this post, but a bit of cobweb in the corners and plenty of other witchy things, courtesy of the Plastik and Jian. Also featured is a new Wasabi Pills hair (complete with witchy hat) and a rather cheeky dress from lassitude & ennui for the 10th anniversary of Fallen Gods, which features a market full of different creators.
We’ve just passed the halfway point for the current round of Genre, so you still have some time to check out the various Celtic-themed items on sale. A great complement to the standing stones from LORE are these Iron Age roundhouses by Anachron, which come in a plaster or stone finish. Anachron, as it happens, is in the middle of breaking their brand into four sub brands, which each will be more focused on a particular type of items. The brands will be kisetsu (traditional(ish) japanese items), HashBang (cyberpunk/urban/punkish stuff), Dreaming Thicket - (fantasy and (pre-20th century) historical items) and Maraschino (20th century retro and vintage).
The title seemed like a good description of Liliya from Voluptas Virtualis as the set consists of little more than dainty strings and a few triangles of fabric, which also can be made partially sheer. The set is accompanied by new shoes from Slink for Shoetopia and a new hair from Wasabi Pills, as well as some different pieces from the same jewellery by the Plastik as in my last post.
Alia Baroque, best known for Fallen Gods, also has the delicious sub-brand called Libertine where he puts out decor from various eras. For the latest round of the Secret Affair, he has released “In Praise of Bacchus”, so that is what we’re doing today. The set can be purchased as a complete set or you can pick out individual decor pages. For a detailed look at what is available in the set, check out Alia’s post. The setup that I am showing in the post is what you get when you use the rezzer from the Adult package to setup a prepared scene.
The Lootbox gacha event opened just before I left for the weekend, so I managed to get some plays in, which included winning the rare from Analog Dog on my first try. Not my usual luck! I also played the Jian Avian Arcana gacha and came away with some nice birds that I have to work into a post soon enough. But this one is all about this gorgeous belly dancing set from deviousMind.
Over the weekend, while I was off at a dog training camp, I was reached by the news that Maxwell Graf of Rustica has ended up in a dire housing situation in RL. He writes about what has happened here. Since Maxwell happens to be a fabulous creator, you can easily help him out by visiting the lovely Rustica sim or his Marketplace store and buying one of his excellent creations. That’s what I call a win-win situation.
Two of my favourite creations from Maxwell are shown below and those of you who have followed my blog for a while have no doubt seen them used in a number of photos. Neptune’s Revenge is a gorgeous pirate/fantasy ship and although not mesh, the Carriageway House is a great build. Sadly, it doesn’t seem to be for sale any longer, but there are some other houses available both in the Marketplace store and on the sim.
From East to West, Genre leaves its Moroccan round behind and moves on to the Celts. My favourite item this round has to be the sets from LORE, featuring a set of granite stones and a set of sandstone stones. There is also another lovely gown from the Muses and some very nice jewellery from Bliensen+MaiTai.
I mentioned the Frou Frou event a little while ago and I thought it might be time for a reminder in the form of the second new release for the event from Voluptas Virtualis. This time, it is paired together with the newest Wasabi Pills hair from Ultra and an old favourite as far as furniture goes from Libertine.
The current round of The Fantasy Collective is called Vikings and while there were some things on sale that mystified me as to how they connected to the theme, there were also quite a few creators present who did an excellent job. One of these is Hextraordinary with their release of a set of runestones.
A lingerie-focused event sounds like just the thing for Second Life and in this post I am showing the first of two releases from Voluptas Virtualis for Frou Frou. Also featured are some lovely new earrings from the Plastik, a pavillion from Trompe Loeil and the new VIP Group Gift from Truth.
This is the last weekend of the Moroccan round of Genre, which means you will miss out on a lot of nice deals if you don’t get yourself over there! For my second post for this round, I decided to make use of one of the four Moroccan-inspired blogger backdrops from Zanzibar CreationZ as well as the lovely season-changing Argan tree from Little Branch.
Modern hairstyles sometimes throw me for a loop, but when I put on this sassy style from Wasabi Pills I knew it needed something sexy. In this case, a pearl harness from deviousMind, the new boots from lassitude & ennui and a couple of poses with class and attitude from the chair in the recently delivered Shadow Box from DRD.
For once there was something at We Love Role-Play that made Ran go “ooooh” (and hopefully there will be more in the future, with their new men’s section) and that ended up being the start of this photo. Black and red are Targaryen colours, after all, and I just happened to have a new gown from the Muses in the same colours. Add to that the awesome dragons from Aii which, although not right for Valyrian dragons, definitely add a special touch.
